Rob Zombie is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, filmmaker, and actor. He was the frontman, and a founding member, of heavy metal band White Zombie. He has also released solo music. He has directed the films House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween (2007), Halloween II (2009), The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, The Lords of Salem, 31, 3 from Hell, and The Munsters. He also wrote all of his films, except for Haunted World, which he co-wrote. He directed his concert film The Zombie Horror Picture Show. He is also known as Rob Straker.
Rob is the son of Louise and Robert Bartlett Cummings, who was a factory worker and furniture upholsterer. His parents also worked at a carnival. His brother, Spider One (Michael David Cummings), is a musician, and leads the band Powerman 5000. Rob is married to actress Sheri Moon Zombie. She has appeared in all of his films.
Rob’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Francis Cummings (the son of Thomas Matthew Cummings/Couming and Catherine J. Murphy). Rob’s grandfather Thomas was born in New York City, New York, to Irish parents. Rob’s great-grandfather Thomas was the son of Matthew Couming and Mary “Molly” O’Donnell.
Rob’s paternal grandmother was Harriet Frances Bartlett (the daughter of John Theophilus Bartlett and Inez Elthea Young). Harriet was born in Derry, New Hampshire, of Colonial Ameriacn (English) descent. John was born in Nottingham, Rockingham, New Hampshire, the son of George Leroy Bartlett and Sarah Frances Nealley. William was born in Eastport, Maine, the son of Benjamin L. Homan, who had English ancestry; and of Perpetua Deveau/Devault, who was French-Canadian, from Baie Sainte-Marie, Digby, Nova Scotia. Rob’s great-grandmother Laura was born in Barre, Washington, Vermont, the daugther of French-Canadian parents, from Québec, Louis Herode Dodier and Marie Josephine Carrier.
Rob’s maternal grandmother was Alice Rose Beauregard (the daugther of Arthur Hanthime Beauregard and Marie Agnes Comeau). Alice was born in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, to French-Canadian parents. Arthur was born in St Hyacinthe, Québec, the son of Hanthime Beauregard and Malvena Gautheir. Rob’s great-grandmother Marie was born in Nova Scotia, the daughter of Hilaire Comeau and Charlotte Rosalie Leblanc.

Cummings is not only a Scottish name, not an English one, but it’s also the name of a decent sized clan.
I may stand corrected, as it is found in England also, but it’s much more prevalent as a Scottish surname.
