Rain Pryor is an American actress and comedian.

Rain is the daughter of actress and dancer Shelley R. Bonis and comedian Richard Pryor. She is married to Dave Vane. She has a daughter with her former husband, police officer Yale Partlow.

Rain’s paternal grandfather was LeRoy “Buck Carter” Pryor, Jr. (the son of LeRoy P. “Roy” Pryor and Rithie Marie Carter). Rain’s grandfather LeRoy was born in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. Rain’s great-grandfather LeRoy was born in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri, the son of Henry Willis Pryor and Mary Ann Young. Rain’s great-grandmother Rithie was born in Decatur, the daughter of Richard Eugene “Dick” Carter and Julia/Julie Isabelle/Isabell Piper.

Rain’s paternal grandmother was Gertrude Leona Brown (the daughter of James Brown and Mary Louise “Josie” Craig). Gertrude was born in Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois.
