Owen Evans is an American singer and songwriter. He created solo music project Roar, or ROAR, which includes the tracks “I Can’t Handle Change” and “Christmas Kids;” both of which have over 300 million streams on Spotify. He was previously a member of folk punk band AJJ.

Owen’s paternal grandfather was Glenn Arthur Evans (the son of Robert Benjamin Evans and Norma E. Kelso). Glenn was born in Indianapls, Marion County, Indiana. Robert was born in Indiana, the son of William R. Evan/Evans, who was from Llangynwyd, Glamorgan, Wales; and of Margaret J. Lewis. Owen’s great-grandmother Norma was born in Huntingburg, Dubois, Indiana, the daughter of Norman Comstock Kelso and Elizabeth Alexander.

Owen’s paternal grandmother was Ruth Agnes Hunt (the daughter of George Hunt and Lila Nell “Nellie” Bennett). Ruth was born in Michigan. George was born in Charleston, Kanawha, West Virginia, the son of Frederick Hunt, whose father was English; and of Nancy Lee McNabb. Owen’s great-grandmother Lila was born in Raleigh, Kent, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Orlando Fulton Bennett, who was born on Wolfe Island, Kingston, and had many American-born ancestors; and of Mary Louise Gilhula, whose paternal grandparents were Irish, from Roscommon and Leitrim, respectively, and whose maternal grandparents were English.

Owen’s maternal grandfather was John Kizler Fincke (the son of Carl William Fincke and Clara M. Kizler). John was born in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas. Carl was born in Kansas, the son of Christian W. Fincke, whose parents were German, with his mother from Bolheim, Heidenheim, Württemberg; and of Emma E. Myers, whose father, and maternal grandparents, were also German, with at least partial roots in Baden. Owen’s great-grandmother Clara was born in Hillsboro, Marion, Kansas, the daughter of German parents, Johannes Jacob Kizler, from Mundelsheim, Neckar, Württemberg; and Angelica Barbara Hiltsenbeck, from Gruibingen, Donaukreis, Württemberg.

Owen’s maternal grandmother was Barbara Belle Allen (the daughter of Robert Sexton Allen and Minnie Edna Gallagher). Barbara was born in Missouri. Robert was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of Lyndon C. Allen, whose paternal grandmother was from Southampton, Hampshire, England; and of Harriet Sexton. Owen’s great-grandmother Minnie was born in Kent, White Pine, Nevada, the daughter of William Crane Gallagher, who was born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, with a paternal grandfather from Donegal, Ireland, as well as English ancestry; and of Ella Sophia Rowe, who was from Vermont.
