Montel Williams is an American television host and actor. He was the host of The Montel Williams Show from 1991 to 2008. He has also hosted the show Military Makeover: Operation Career. He founded the Montel Williams MS Foundation.

Montel is the son of Herman Williams, Jr., a firefighter and fire chief. He was raised Catholic. Montel served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy, from 1974 to 1996. He is married to flight attendant Tara Fowler. He has two children with his former wife Rochele See; and two children with his former wife, exotic dancer and performer Grace Morley. Grace is the mother of actor Mace Coronel.

Montel has said:

My mother happens to be half Caucasian, and her mother was from Scotland, and her father was African-American. Through her, that gene [for multiple sclerosis] came through, skipped a generation, and hit me.
