Hi l!ttletimmy, do you know Greg Kurstin? He is an A-list music producer. I know him because of Liam Gallagher (he is partly responsable of his artistic renaissance). He definitely has a Jewish look.
I agree, Kurstin does look Jewish. Though most are dark haired rather than blonde, blonde hair is not uncommon among Ashkenazim.
@andrew,
A lot of Hollywood Jews have Germanic phenotypes, Solowitz included. I would argue they are overrepresented, and often mixed with something else (e.g. Scarlett Johansson who’s half Danish). Solowitz looks like the Tronder facemorph on Human Phenotypes.
Always thought he looked Finnish or Scandinavian. Does not look typical for his ethnicity.
Ashkenazi Jews can have a variety of looks, actually. Is the mizhari and sephardic jews that have a more distinctive middle eastern look.
@Jonas, you explained it perfectly. Sephardic Jews probably look closer to the ancient Israelites than Ashkenazim do. Though out of all the Jewish groups, Romaniote and Syrian Jews likely resemble them most closely.
Ashkenazi Jews have diverse origins, particularly on their maternal line. They have Northern European DNA, most of which is Slavic, but also Germanic, and in addition to that East Asian. The other diaspora Jewish groups don’t have that genetic ancestry. Otherwise, Ashkenazim are about 85% genetically similar to Sephardic Jews, especially Eastern ones from the Balkans and Turkey.
@l!ttletimmy
Have you seen Alex Solowitz?
Googled him. He arguably has a Germanic phenotype.
Just for saying, though a stereotypical Jewish look may exist, there is no such thing as “he/she looks Jewish’.
Does Diego Schwartzmann looks Jewish?
Tennis player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is likely part Jewish on father’s side.
