His roles include the films The Express: The Ernie Davis Story, Love & Other Drugs, In Time, People Like Us, Greyhound, and A Working Man; and the shows Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Last Ship, Hollywood Hitmen, which he also wrote for; The Nine Lives of Claw, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Ted Lasso, and NCIS: Tony & Ziva. He is 6′4″.

He was born in Austria, of Polish descent, with parents from Szczecin; and raised in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. Maximilian is married to Australian actress and producer Dichen Lachman, with whom he has a daughter.
