Margaret O’Brien is an American film, radio, television, and stage actress. Her roles included the films Journey for Margaret, Dr. Gillespie’s Criminal Case, Thousands Cheer, Madame Currie, Lost Angel (1942), Jane Eyre, The Canterville Ghost (1943), Meet Me in St. Louis, Music for Millions, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes, Bad Bascomb, Three Wise Fools, The Unfinished Dance, Big City (1948), Tenth Avenue Angel, Little Women, The Secret Garden (1949), Her First Romance, Futari no hitomi, Glory (1956), Heller in Pink Tights, That’s Entertainment!, Amy (1981), and Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!; the short films You, John Jones! and Boxes (2005); and the musical tv movie Little Women (1958).

She is the daughter of Gladys Flores, a flamenco dancer, and Lawrence O’Brien, a circus performer. She was married to steel-industry executive Roy Thorvald Thorsen, until his death, with whom she has a daughter.
