Mae Whitman is an American actress and singer. Her roles include The DUFF, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the series Parenthood.

She is the daughter of Jeffrey Whitman, a set construction co-ordinator, and Pat Musick, a voice actress. Mae has a son.

Mae’s paternal grandfather likely was Don Albert Whitman (the son of Harold John Whitman and Bethel May Stull). Don was born in Los Angeles, California. John was born in Rock Falls, Whiteside, Illinois, the son of Frank Benjamin Whitman, whose mother was born in Dreis-Leobshitz Ob-Schlesien, Bleischwitz, Schlesien, Prussia, Germany; and of Jesse Belle Allison, whose father was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Bethel was born in Sterling, Whiteside, the daughter of Savona A. Stull and Gertrude M. Bassett.

Mae’s paternal grandmother likely was Donna Jo Miller (the daughter of Benjamin Herman Miller and Lucile Loy Marsh). Donna was born in Nebraska. Benjamin was born in Wood River Township, Dawson, Nebraska, the son of John W. Miller and Nellie Fairchild. Lucile was born in Lincoln Township, Saline, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph Patterson Marsh and Loy Etta Worman.

Mae’s maternal grandfather was Donald Carr Musick, Jr. (the son of Donald Carr Musick, Sr. and Etheldreda “Ethel” Craden). Mae’s grandfather Donald was born in Missouri. Mae’s great-grandfather Donald was the son of William Carr Musick and Margaret Aurelia Cronin. Ethel was the daughter of Harry Joseph Craden and Catherine “Katie” Cotwinkle/Kotterinkel.

Mae’s maternal grandmother was Jane Frances Maginnis (the daughter of Louis Eugene Maginnis and Nan Byrnes). Louis was the son of William Timon Maginnis and Mary White Betts.

    If we count her likely paternal ancestry she is:
    English, German, Irish, small amounts of Scottish, distant Swiss-German, Dutch, Welsh, remote Belgian and Spanish, possibly other
    Some of her German ancestors were born in France and some of her distant Dutch ancestors were born in Curacao and Brazil too
