Joe Murray is an American animator, illustrator, writer and director. He created animated series Rocko’s Modern Life, Camp Lazlo, and Let’s Go Luna!

Joe’s maternal grandfather was Gail Albert Bisbee (the son of Clare Adam Bisbee and Hazel Butzerin). Gail was born in Montana. Clare was born in Chardon, Ohio, the son of Henry Harold Bisbee and Alice G. Wilder. Joe’s great-grandmother Hazel was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert Joseph Butzerin, whose parents were from Switzerland, and Margit Anderson, whose parents were from Norway.

Joe’s maternal grandmother was Anna Margaret McCarthy (the daughter of John McCarthy and Katherine Mary Lyons). Anna was born in New London, Connecticut, to Irish parents from Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland. John was the son of Cornelius McCarthy and Abbie Fitzpatrick. Joe’s great-grandmother Katherine was the daughter of Michael Lyons and Ellen Mahoney.
