Jeanne Crain was an American actress. Her roles included the films In the Meantime, Darling; State Fair (1945), Leave Her to Heaven, Centennial Summer, Margie, Apartment for Peggy, A Letter to Three Wives, Pinky, Cheaper by the Dozen (1950), People Will Talk, Man Without a Star, Gentlemen Marry Brunettes, The Fastest Gun Alive, and The Joker Is Wild. She was also known as Jeanne Crain Brinkman.

Jeanne was the daughter of Loretta Anna and George Adolphus Crain, a high school English teacher. Her father was born in Sweet Springs, Saline County, Missouri. Her mother was born in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa. She was married to Paul Brinkman, until his death, with whom she had seven children. Paul was an actor under Paul Brooks, and later an executive for an arms manufacturing company.

Jeanne’s maternal grandfather was Martin Joseph Carr (the son of Hugh M. Carr and Mary/Margret McDonough). Martin was born in County Mayo, Ireland, to parents who were also born there. The family moved to the U.S. in 1863.

Jeanne’s maternal grandmother was Anna O’Brien (the daughter of Michael Anthony O’Brien and Anna/Anastacia/Anastasia Redmond). Anna was born in Clermont, Fayette County, Iowa, to parents from County Wexford, Ireland.
