James Lafferty is an American actor, director, and producer. His roles include the series Once and Again, as Nathan Scott, on One Tree Hill; Crisis, Underground, The Haunting of Hill House, The Right Stuff, and Everyone Is Doing Great; the films Annabelle’s Wish, S. Darko, Oculus, Waffle Street, Small Town Crime, and Red Right Hand; and the made-for-tv movies A Season on the Brink and A Pickleball Christmas. He has also directed episodes of One Tree Hill and Everyone Is Doing Great, as well as The Royals and All American.

He is the son of Angie and Jeff Lafferty, who own a construction company. He has a younger brother, actor Stuart Lafferty. James is married to Australian actress Alexandra Park, with whom he has a son.

James’s paternal grandfather was John Ernest/Earnest Lafferty (the son of Ernest Binks Lafferty and Elta Othene Hensley). John was born in Oklahoma. James’s great-grandfather Ernest was born in Arkansas, the son of John Everett Lafferty and Julia Ann Gibney. James’s great-grandmother Elta was born in Missouri, the daughter of Herman Hensley and Golden A. Grimes.
