Hulk Hogan was an American professional wrestler, actor, television personality, entrepreneur, and musician. He was a member of the New World Order, along with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. He was also known as Hollywood Hogan, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Hulk Boulder, Hulk Machine, Mr. America, Sterling Golden, Terry Boulder, and The Super Destroyer.

Hulk was the son of Vernice Ruth (Moody) and Peter Bollea, Jr. His father was born in Hanover, Grafton County, New Hampshire, to a father of Italian descent, and to a mother of Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry. Hulk’s mother was born in Distrito de Balboa, Panama Canal Zone, to parents from Maryland and Maine, and had English and French ancestry. Hulk had once stated, at 41:22 in the video, that his mother was Panamanian and “really dark.” While Hulk’s mother was born in Panama, she had no Panamanian ancestry; some of her family members were working on the construction of the Panama Canal at the time of her birth.

Hulk was married to yoga instructor Sky Daily, until his death. He had two children, singer and actress Brooke Hogan and actor Nick Hogan, with his former wife, Linda Marie (Claridge) Hogan. His nephew was wrestler Horace Hogan.

Hulk was a first cousin, once removed, of actress Elisabeth Röhm. Hulk’s paternal grandparents, Peter Bollea and Edith Medora Noonan, were also Elisabeth’s maternal great-grandparents, the parents of Elisabeth’s maternal grandmother, Carlina Bollea.

Hulk’s paternal grandfather was named Peter “Pete” Bollea (the son of Pietro Bollea). Hulk’s grandfather Peter was born in Cigliano, Vercelli, Piedmont, Italy.

Hulk’s paternal grandmother was Edith Medora “Dora” Noonan (the daughter of Francis/Frank Patrick Noonan and Helena Frances Arvin/Arven). Edith was born in New York City, New York. Frank was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Helena was born in Canaan, Grafton County, New Hampshire, the daughter of Albert Gallatin Arven and Malana Shepard.

Hulk’s maternal grandfather was Henry Clinton Moody (the son of Henry W. Moody and Ida C. Swaner/Swanner). Hulk’s grandfather Henry was born in Kingsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. Henry was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Edward Moody and Sarah Hart. Hulk’s great-grandmother Ida was born in Maryland, the daughter of William G. Swanner and Margaret M. Sanders.

Hulk’s maternal grandmother was Vernice Caroline Violette (the daughter of Frank W. Violette and Elizabeth Nell Stafford). Vernice was born in Old Town, Penobscot County, Maine, and was raised in Panama, after her father went there to work on the Panama Canal. Hulk’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of William Harrison Stafford and Caroline “Carrie” Knapp Butters.
