Florence Pugh is a British actress. She is known for her roles in the films The Falling (2014), Lady Macbeth, The Commuter, Outlaw King, Malevolent (2018), Fighting with My Family, Midsommar, Little Women (2019), Black Widow (2021), Don’t Worry Darling, The Wonder (2022), A Good Person, Oppenheimer, Dune: Part Two, and, in voice performance, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Boy and the Heron; and on television’s Marcella, King Lear, The Little Drummer Girl (2018), Hawkeye, and Human Resources.
She is a sister of actor and musician Toby Sebastian (né Pugh) and half-sister of actress Arabella Gibbins. Her mother, Deborah, is a dancer and dance teacher, and her father, Clinton Pugh, is a restaurateur and runs The Grand Cafe, Kazbar and the Cafe Coco chain in Oxford. The family lived in Manilva, Spain, for a few years during her childhood.
Florence’s paternal grandfather’s surname was Pugh.
Florence’s paternal grandmother’s surname was Brennan.
Florence’s maternal grandfather is George Mackin (the son of George William Mackin and Violet Louisa/Louise Silver). Florence’s grandfather George was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. Florence’s great-grandfather George was the son of George Mackin, who was born in Queenstown, Cork, Ireland, and of Betsy Ann Fanthorpe. Violet was the daughter of Robert John Silver and Elizabeth Lydia Patrick.
Florence’s maternal grandmother is named Patricia Hopps.
American actor Zachary Levi was born Zachary Levi Pugh. He uses his middle name as his stage name, as he believed “Pugh” was too unusual-sounding. A decade after he became a known actor, Florence and her brother Toby Sebastian also became well-known; Florence kept the surname, while Toby, like Zachary, uses his first two names (though in reverse order). The siblings are not related to Zachary in any discernible way.
Surprised this hasn’t made it on here, yet. She did the No Taste Like Home show last year, where the host takes people through their ancestry using food, and at least part of her ancestry is Dutch. I think it’s on the Pugh line.
She has 3x great grandparents named Mauritz Becht and Anna Maria van den Berg who came to Britain in the 1860s. She also has a 3x great grandfather on her maternal line whose name was James Tose, and they were English from Yorkshire.

We just don’t know which one of these ancestors’s sons was her great-grandfather
That makes her background: English, at least 1/16th Irish, Welsh and Dutch, 1/256th German, and remote Belgian Flemish
Her surname sounds funny hahahah… Anyway, very cute and also good actress. I don’t see her being Just english and irish, she has that famou welsh volleyboll head, just like Taron Egerton and Craig Roberts.
lol what does that even mean, volleyballs are just spheres, like most other sports.
* likely some Welsh
Pugh is a Welsh surname
