Fares Fares is an Assyrian-Swedish actor, producer, and director.
Fares was born in Beirut, Lebanon, of Assyrian origin. In 1987, when he was fourteen years old, his family moved to Sweden to escape the Lebanese Civil War, residing in Örebro, where they had relatives. His brother is director Josef Fares. Fares is married to Clara Hallencreutz.
On his religion, Fares has said, “I’m not a Muslim. I was born Christian.” He often plays Middle Eastern characters. He speaks Swedish, Arabic, and English.
How are Assyrian-descendants be tagged as “Arab”? They are Christians and speak Aramaic.
Fares is a fairly Arabic name.
It’s not quite as simple as Andrew is portraying it. Some Assyrians don’t mind the association; some even consider themselves under that larger umbrella if even Assyrian first. In this case, it’s even more complicated because the profile says that Fares speaks Arabic, but does not say if he speaks Assyrian.
You don’t know Assyrians at all yes Assyrians do mind that you label them arab they r not stupid they know it’s their second langauge but will accept any label thrown at them because they get so many idiots throwing labels at them to begin with and r sick of it so they will just take it at this point and not care and websites like this who are written by idiots thing the word Assyrian is another arab culture and thinking it’s Syrian which not the same Syrian name came from Latin and is the name for an Arab of a Arab state Assyrian is Greek and means ashur this website because they know he is from an Arab country they will list Arabic and think its Assyrian langauge too this guy along with his brother are both from Lebanon yes they r Assyrian but they don’t speak Assyrian dialect they are suryoyo which Assyrians in lebanon mostly are
@follers
Yes, Fares is a very Arabic name.
And Assyrians r allowed Arabic names if they want commonly last name will be Arabic but first names are either religion or history based if not either basic names Jessica Rebekah Jenifer but if Assyrians have Arabic first name it’s because they r influenced by arab culture they do come from their countries and take some of arab customs but just because they do doesn’t mean they r arab culture their lanaguge and traditions and customs are different to the Arab culture the same can be said about Persian and Armenian
Assyrians arw allowed Arabic names most commonly their last names will be Arabic that’s normal but their first name will always be either something to do with religion or history if not either then a basic name like Jessica or Jenifer or Rebekah idk why his parents will give him an Arabic first name as his last name Assyrians do come from Islamic/arab countries they might be influenced by some Arab customs but the culture and language is not the same the same can be said about Persian
First of all don’t speak for anyone you are not of secondly stop labelling us as lanaguge it’s bad enough that Assyrians label themselves by religion they are Assyrian put aside lanaguge that’s not important here because this man is from an Arab country which is his nationality not surprised these pagan stupid western websites will label him as arab they can do the same with an Armenian from Iran or Kurdish from Syria
I believe he is suryoyo dialect Assyrian married to a white washed European woman does not care about his culture he white washed it for love disgusting his kids are European not Assyrian he broke his ethnic cultural line
