Her roles include the films One Hour Photo, House of 1000 Corpses, The Sitter (2011), Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean, and The Bling Ring (2013); and the series Action, The L Word, Justice, Swingtown, and Maron. She has also been billed by her birth name Erin Cohen.

Her father is an architect. Her mother is a social worker, who co-founded a Reform Jewish congregation. Erin has two children with her former husband, producer Chris Uettwiller.
