Danny Masterson is an American actor and disc jockey. His roles include the shows Joe’s Life, Roseanne, NYPD Blue, Extreme, Party of Five, Cybill, That ’70s Show, MADtv, Robot Chicken, Men at Work, and The Ranch; the films Beethoven’s 2nd, Bye Bye Love, Face/Off, Trojan War, Star Kid, The Faculty, Dirt Merchant, Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000, Comic Book Villains, Puff, Puff, Pass; Smiley Face, Yes Man, The Brooklyn Heist, Wake, Made for Each Other (2009), The Bridge to Nowhere, The Chicago 8, California Solo, Alter Egos, and Urge (2016); the made-for-tv movies Seduced by Madness, Her Last Chance, and Strange Frequency; and the music video for “Feelin’ Alright.” He has been convicted of two felony counts of rape.

His brother is actor Christopher Masterson, and his half-siblings are actors Jordan Masterson and Alanna Masterson, as well as Will Masterson. He was raised in Albertson, Garden City, and East Williston, all on Long Island. Danny is married to actress, model, socialite, and singer Bijou Phillips, with whom he has a daughter.

Danny’s paternal grandfather was Frank J. Masterson (the son of Patrick Masterson and Mary Mulligan). Frank was born in New York, to Irish parents. Patrick was the son of Frank Masterson and Ellen Reilly.

Danny’s paternal grandmother was Dorothy Boylan (the daughter of Peter J. Boylan and Mary/Marie Rosa Renz). Dorothy was born in New York City, New York. Peter was was born in Manhattan, New York City, the son of Irish parents, Dennis Boylan/Boylen and Annie Moran. Danny’s great-grandmother Mary was born in New York City, the daughter of German parents, William F. Renz and Elizabeth Voswinkel.

Danny’s maternal grandfather was Francis Bernard Nicholson (the son of Michael Nicholson and Sarah Kennedy). Francis was born in Stone Ridge, Ulster, New York. Michael was the son of English-born parents, Henry Richard Nicholson, who was from Liverpool, Lancashire; and of Ellen/Ella Gilbert, who had roots in Nantwich, Cheshire.

Danny’s maternal grandmother was Helen Teresita McCormick (the daughter of Thomas J. McCormick and Maria Josephine “Mary” Clifford). Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, to Irish parents. Thomas was born in Liscolvan, Kilmore, County Roscommon, the son of Patrick McCormack and Elizabeth Shannon. Danny’s great-grandmother Maria was the daughter of Patrick J. Clifford and Anne Beirne.
