Clive Chin is a Jamaican record producer. He was a pioneer in the establishment of dub as a standalone musical form. He oversaw recordings by top 1970s reggae performers and producers the Wailers, Tommy McCook, Alton Ellis, Lee Perry, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, and Black Uhuru. He also ran a Jamaican restaurant in Queens, New York City, New York, U.S.
Clive is the son of Patricia and record producer and entrepreneur Randy Chin (born Vincent G. Chin). His family ran Randy’s Record Store, and upstairs studio, Randy’s Studio 17, where Clive prospered as a producer.

I read somewhere that he is 75% Chinese, 18.75% Afro- Jamaican and 6.25% Irish.

Chins mother looks full Chinese while his father appears to be Asian and African. would you agree with me on that?

He said his grandfather was from mainland China, but coming to Kingston, Jamaica is where he met Clive’s grandmother–an Irish-African woman. But I guess that still doesn’t tell us his full heritage. This is tricky …
And the comment he gave where his grandfather’s surname was Chin-Sang, but Clive only had Chin has his surname? What’s that about?
