Brett Cooper is an American conservative political commentator, podcast host, and actress. Her roles include the shows Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, Shots Fired, Heathers, Mr. Birchum, and The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin, and the film Lady Ballers.

She is the daughter of Diane and Michael Cooper. She has deep roots in the American South through most of her recent family lines, particularly in North Carolina. Brett is married to advertising agency founder Alex Tombul, with whom she has a son.

Brett’s patrilineal line can be traced to Richard Cooper, who was born, c. 1639, in Sheriffhales, Shropshire, England, to Richard Cooper and Elizabeth Olde.

Brett’s paternal grandfather was Lenox Gore Cooper, Jr. (the son of Lenox Gore Cooper, Sr. and Mary Benthall Hardin). Brett’s grandfather Lenox was born in Wilmington, New Hanover, North Carolina. Brett’s great-grandfather Lenox was born in New Hanover County, North Carolina, the son of William Bryant Cooper and Ada Frances Gore. Brett’s great-grandmother Mary was born in New Hanover County, the daughter of John Haywood Hardin, who was from Washington, D.C.; and of Mary Benthall Brooks.

Brett’s paternal grandmother was Bonnie Brown (the daughter of Roland Lawrence Brown and Lora Mae Bordeaux). Bonnie was born in North Carolina. Brett’s great-grandfather Roland was born in Columbus County, North Carolina, the son of Braddie Herbert Brown and Martha Lenora Lennon. Brett’s great-grandmother Lora was born in Columbus, the daughter of William Dallas Bordeaux and Florence Collum.

Brett’s maternal grandfather was surnamed Odom (the son of Benjamin Ellsberry Odom and Ruby Florence Rogers). Benjamin was born in Story, Garvin, Oklahoma, the son of Benjamin Franklin Odom and Eudora F. “Dora” Layne. Brett’s great-grandmother Ruby was born in Oklahoma, the daughter of John Leslie Rogers and Cora Ethel Carson.

Brett’s maternal grandmother was surnamed Reddick (the daughter of Harold Austin Reddick and Mildred Ruth Martin). Harold was born in Enid City, Garfield, Oklahoma, the son of George Washington Reddick and Anna Brown, whose own parents were Dutch, from Amsterdam and Uithuizermeeden, Groningen, respectively. Brett’s great-grandmother Mildred was born in Shawnee, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elmer Warren Martin and Nora Myrtle Dennis.

On her father’s side, there are claims of Brett being descended from several Native American ancestors, including Powhatan mythological figure Nicketti Hughes. All of these statements appear to be inaccurate.

Brett’s matrilineal line can be traced to Mary Ann Inman, who was born, c. 1765, in North Carolina.
