Barbie Hsu was a Taiwanese actress, singer, and television personality. She starred on the show Meteor Garden. She was in musical duo “S.O.S.” (Sisters of Shu) with her sister, television host, actress, and singer Dee Hsu. She was also known as Big S (大S; Da S) and Barbie Shu, Hsi-yuan Hsu, Tiger Hsu, and Shanshan.
Barbie was the daughter of Hsu Chien and Huang Chunmei. Her cousin was news anchor and journalist Chelsey Chang Chia-ru. She was married to South Korean singer, DJ, music producer, dancer, and songwriter Koo Jun-yup/DJ Koo, until her death. Barbie had two children with her former husband, Chinese entrepreneur Wang Xiaofei.
Barbie’s ancestry can be traced back to Tancheng, Linyi, Shandong, China.
