Anthony Head was an English actor and singer. He starred as Rupert Giles on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. His roles also included the films Lady Chatterley’s Lover (1981), A Prayer for the Dying, I’ll Be There, Fat Slags, Imagine Me & You, Scoop (2006), Sparkle (2007), The Magic Door, Repo! Anthony was the son of Helen Shingler, an actress, and Seafield Laurence Stewart Murray Head, a documentary filmmaker, and founder of Verity Films, a documentary production company. His older brother, Murray Head, was an actor and singer. He was married to Sarah Fisher, until her death. The couple had two children, actresses Emily Head and Daisy Head.
Anthony’s paternal grandfather was John Laurence Head (the son of John George Head and Sarah Maria Salmon). Anthony’s grandfather John was born in Hendon, Middlesex, England. Anthony’s great-grandfather John was the son of George Head and Elizabeth Heath. Sarah was the daughter of Henry Robert Salmon and Maria Hall.
