Objetivando uma maior compreensão do SAG do Trigo no Brasil, o presente trabalho possui natureza exploratória e qualitativa. Conforme observado por Selltiz et al (1967), em pesquisas que têm como objetivo familiarizar-se com o fenômeno ou conseguir nova compreensão do mesmo, estudos do tipo exploratórios são os mais indicados. Assim, o planejamento da pesquisa deve ser flexível, de modo a permitir a consideração de muitos aspectos diferentes de um fenômeno. Para Malhotra (2001:105-106): " A pesquisa exploratória é usada em casos nos quais é necessário definir o problema com maior precisão, identificar cursos relevantes de ação ou obter dados adicionais antes que se possa desenvolver uma abordagem. As informações necessárias são definidas apenas ao acaso neste estágio e o processo de pesquisa adotado é flexível e não estruturado. Por exemplo, ele pode consistir de entrevistas pessoais com peritos da indústria. A amostra, selecionada para gerar o máximo de discernimento, é pequena e não representativa. Os dados primários são de natureza qualitativa e como tal analisados ". A pesquisa exploratória á caracterizada pela utilização de métodos amplos e versáteis, como: levantamentos em fontes secundárias (bibliográficas, documentais, entre outras), levantamentos de experiência, estudos de casos selecionados e observação informal (Mattar, 1996). Ainda para Mattar (1996:22): " ... uma terceira forma de aprofundar o conhecimento de problemas não suficientemente definidos é através de estudos de caso selecionados. É um método muito produtivo para estimular a compreensão e sugerir hipóteses e sugestões para a pesquisa. O método do estudo de caso pode envolver o exame de registros existentes, a observação da ocorrência do fato, entrevistas estruturadas, entrevistas não estruturadas etc. O objeto do estudo pode ser um indivíduo, um grupo de indivíduos, uma organização, um grupo de organizações ou uma situação ". No intuito de mostrar a utilização de uma seqüência de etapas que permitam estruturar e caracterizar sistemas produtivos, a pesquisa utiliza o estudo de caso do SAG do Trigo como um exemplo de aplicação dessa metodologia de análise para um grupo de organizações, que no caso são as envolvidas no sistema em questão. Segundo Yin (2001), o estudo de caso é um método de pesquisa abrangente, muito utilizado quando o foco da pesquisa se encontra em fenômenos contemporâneos.

Measurements of luminosity obtained using the ATLAS detector during early running of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at \(\sqrt{s} = 7\)  TeV are presented. The luminosity is independently determined using several detectors and multiple algorithms, each having different acceptances, systematic uncertainties and sensitivity to background. The ratios of the luminosities obtained from these methods are monitored as a function of time and of μ, the average number of inelastic interactions per bunch crossing. Residual time- and μ-dependence between the methods is less than 2% for 0μ

Background Docosahexaenoic acid (22 ∶ 6n-3, DHA) is found in high concentration in phospholipids from retinal membranes, and is essential for their function. This study investigated the effect of in vivo retinal detachment on in vitro lipid metabolism using [3H]DHA. Methods Rabbit retina was detached from the retinal pigment epithelium by injecting physiological saline into the subretinal space of the eye. Retinal samples from control (non-operated) and sham (operated, no detachment) animals, and from attached and detached retinal areas from the same eye, were incubated in vitro with [3H]DHA for 4 hours, and then prepared for biochemical and autoradiographic analysis. Results In control and sham retinas, [3H]DHA was preferentially esterified into phospholipids (82%) with low labeling of free fatty acids (FFA) (5%). In samples from detached areas of the retina, a higher proportion of [3H]DHA was recovered in the FFA pool (up to 30%) and its esterification was shunted into triacylglycerol, thereby reducing the formation of [3H]DHA-phospholipids. Changes were sustained through 48 hours of postdetachment. High labeling of inner segments and synaptic terminals was observed autoradiographically in control retinas, while in detached retinas, clusters of labeling were detected in the neural retina, and eventually within the photoreceptor layer. Conclusion Retinal detachment induces longlasting changes in lipid metabolism which are reflected in lower labeling of [3H]DHA-phospholipids. Metabolic changes, sustained through 48 hours, may lead to inadequate synthesis/turnover of phospholipids, among them, those containing DHA, possibly resulting in defective disc membrane assembly with subsequent deterioration of visual cells.

A measurement of the production cross-section for top quark pairs (tt) in pp collisions at √ s = 7 TeV is presented using data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events are selected in two different topologies: single lepton (electron e or muon μ) with large missing transverse energy and at least four jets, and dilepton (ee, μμ or eμ) with large missing transverse energy and at least two jets. In a data sample of 2.9 pb −1 , 37 candidate events are observed in the single-lepton topology and 9 events in the dilepton topology. The corresponding expected backgrounds from non-tt Standard Model processes are estimated using data-driven methods and determined to be 12.2 ± 3.9 events and 2.5 ± 0.6 events, respectively. The kinematic properties of the selected events are consistent with SM tt production. The inclusive top quark pair production cross-section is measured to be σ tt = 145 ± 31(stat.) +42 −27 (syst.) pb.

A responsabilidade é a atribuição do dever jurídico de reparar um dano, quando da ocorrência de um evento lesivo cometido pelo agente, tendo este vínculo contratual ou correspondência legal. A responsabilidade do Estado vai surgir quando da atribuição à Administração de um evento danoso, ficando na incumbência de sua reparação total, mesmo não sendo seu causador direto, mas com o encargo da solvência do prejuízo por disposição legal. A vida em sociedade, organizada por um Estado Democrático de Direito, movido pelo interesse público a direcionar a política estatal e as ações da Administração, faz com que ingerências estatais sejam legítimas em prol do bem comum. Em contrapartida, na visão do administrado, a atividade estatal pode gerar danos, pois a Administração encontra-se numa situação de desigualdade quando de uma ingerência necessária em prol do interesse público, e consequentemente, pode atingir o patrimônio ou direito do particular, mesmo numa ação lícita. Por isso, é de suma importância a análise da Teoria do Risco Integral, bem como suas críticas, visando uma melhor elucidação sobre o tema "responsabilidade do Estado".

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a educação indígena intercultural e diferenciada como mecanismo de proteção e garantia do pluralismo e da multiculturalidade ambos preceituados constitucionalmente, para que haja a emancipação desses indivíduos das amarras opressivas que lhes circundam desde a chegada dos portugueses no país, demonstrando a relação umbilical destes com a necessidade da formação superior de professores indígenas destas escolas para seu desenvolvimento profissional e treinamento em práticas pedagógicas mais adequadas a estas populações.

By the process of democratization, wich occurred in the 80's at Brazil, brought by the constitutional order of 1988, significant changes have taken place in Brazil, among them the largest political and administrative decentralization of the state, the increasing of autonomy and the reduction of federal implement of policies to the regional development promoted by the Federal Union. Emerged from these concepts the dissemination of an anti-cooperative behavior among the sub nationals governments, especially the exercising of taxing authority by the members of the State and the Federal District unilaterally, through the granting of tax exemption without the actuation of CONFAZ, with a view to attract private initiative to promote regional development and job's creation, implying, in the other hand, negative effects at the Federation as a whole. In this way, and on a federal state whose parameters are unmodifiable, asks whether such approaches adopted by Member States and the Federal District are in strict observation with constitutional's principles, as well proposes ways of reducing the tax competition between the Brazilian political entities, guided by the lights of the federal rule.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis shikimate dehydrogenase (MtbSD) catalyzes the fourth reaction in the shikimate pathway, the NADPHdependent reduction of 3-dehydroshikimate. To gather information on the kinetic mechanism, initial velocity patterns, product inhibition, and primary deuterium kinetic isotope effect studies were performed and the results suggested a steady-state ordered bi-bi kinetic mechanism. The magnitudes of both primary and solvent kinetic isotope effects indicated that the hydride transferred from NADPH and protons transferred from the solvent in the catalytic cycle are not significantly rate limiting in the overall reaction. Proton inventory analysis indicates that one proton gives rise to solvent isotope effects. Multiple isotope effect studies indicate that both hydride and proton transfers are concerted. The pH profiles revealed that acid/base chemistry takes place in catalysis and substrate binding. The MtbSD 3D model was obtained in silico by homology modeling. Kinetic and chemical mechanisms for MtbSD are proposed on the basis of experimental data.

Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of nucleosides and deoxynucleosides, generating ribose 1-phosphate and the purine base, which is an important step of purine catabolism pathway. The lack of such an activity in humans, owing to a genetic disorder, causes T-cell impairment, and drugs that inhibit this enzyme may have the potential of being utilized as modulators of the immunological system to treat leukemia, autoimmune diseases, and rejection in organ transplantation. Here, we describe kinetics and crystal structure of human PNP in complex with 7-methyl-6-thio-guanosine, a synthetic substrate, which is largely used in activity assays. Analysis of the structure identifies different protein conformational changes upon ligand binding, and comparison of kinetic and structural data permits an understanding of the effects of atomic substitution on key positions of the synthetic substrate and their consequences to enzyme binding and catalysis. Such knowledge may be helpful in designing new PNP inhibitors.
