Essential tremor is a neurological condition that causes a rhythmic trembling of the hands, head, voice, legs or trunk. It is often confused with Parkinson’s disease although essential tremor is eight times more common, affecting an estimated 7 to 10 million Americans and millions more worldwide.

The IETF has distributed more than $1.2 million in research grants, to fund promising studies in the search for the cause of and cure for essential tremor.

Our Scholarships
Each year, the IETF awards up to 10 $7,500 scholarships to qualified post-high school students of all ages, to lessen the burden of higher education. The scholarships can be used for supplies, books or tuition at licensed, accredited institutions of higher education (including trade schools) and are paid directly to the educational institution.
