As well as the main conference, there were also very interesting and useful pre-conference workshops, including HIP (the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.primaresearch.org\/hip2019\">5th International Workshop on Historical Document Imaging<\/a>) and ICDAR-OST (the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/icdar-ost2019\">2nd International Workshop on Open Services and Tools for Document Analysis<\/a>). The eScripta team gave two papers:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.primaresearch.org\/hip2019\/media\/slides\/hip2019_Kiessling.pdf\">BADAM: A Public Dataset for Baseline Detection in Arabic-script Manuscripts<\/a>: B. Kiessling, D. St\u00f6kl Ben Ezra and M. Thomas Miller (HIP)<\/li>\n<li>eScriptorium: An Open-Source Platform for Historical Document Analysis: B. Kiessling, R. Tissot, P. Stokes and D. St\u00f6kl Ben Ezra (ICDAR-OST).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>Both papers were very well received, and we also had a lot of interesting discussions with other researchers in the field.
