It took 5 hours to get home today with traffic congestion. But I've been home for about an hour and Quoth (after having a hissy-fit), is nestled next to me rather desperate for love and attention. Four and a half days alone might be too much for them. Binky is still snubbing me rather loudly by being very quiet.

I've had some sort of noise going since I got back just because it's so damn quiet without Thing 1 and Thing 2 playing or shouting or screaming or just a little voice saying, "Noona? Will you read to me?" Or "Noona, fix it!" Or "It 'nowy ou'si'e!" Or the same knock-knock joke over and over again. Sigh.

My sister and I also spent nearly two days on Old Navy and Lands End buying clothes. They're being delivered to NYC so I'll have to go back up in another two weeks or so. Shucks.

I miss them already and the poor BiL (brother-in-law) is driving back to NYC now.

I go back to work tomorrow and I'm babysitting the next two Fridays. Whee. But the babysitting is much-needed cash toward food and schoolbooks for next semester. No word yet if my 3.09 GPA is enough to keep me registered for the Honors classes. I'm hoping that since the head of the Honors department signing me up acts as an override, that I'll have no difficulties.

Now, off to see if the cats will actually eat some dinner now and to possibly find some dinner for myself. OH and to read all the fic I've missed the last 5 days! :) And to turn up the radiator cause its freezing in here.

Thing 1 turned 6 yesterday. Wow. I called him after work and he still answers the phone with, "Hi, Noona, Hi!" which fills my heart with joy. I couldn't sing to him because the sick has made my voice very weak but we babbled stupidly at each other for a good ten minutes before he got bored. It was nice. He is having his birthday party tomorrow at the space museum. So wish I could be there. Do not have the money/energy. But he's six. And as he put it, "Now I need BOTH HANDS to show people how old I am!" Love him.

Work continues on as it does. My 11 o'clock wedding invitation appointment totally failed to show up which sucked. I'm thinking she forgot and will show up either Monday or call to reschedule for next Saturday. At least I hope so. Still I have one set of invitations arriving this week, a set of business cards in the proof stages, and another set of stationery to be faxed out on Monday so it's not a total loss. And graduation season is upon us so I expect we'll have loads of graduation announcements in the next few weeks (hope hope hope).

I have already hit the grocery store so except for laundry, there is nothing I have to do this weekend. I cleaned my apartment on Wednesday night and it is still pretty shiny. Just need to do some dishes and take out some trash. I'll get around to that while I cook dinner. I'm making tacos tonight \o/ with all the good stuff (cheese, lettuce, salsa). There are strawberries for dessert. You should come over :)
