Do you sell your art?
Yep. There is a price link to the left of each painting, unless it is sold. Prices can sometimes be negotiated depending on the circumstances, like where you live and how you discovered my work.
Are you represented by any galleries?
I am represented by Craig Krull Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, and also Stellarhighway in Brooklyn, NY.
What kind of payments do you accept?
Cash, check, wire transfer, PayPal, Venmo, or even silver! When purchasing through my website, a small window will open when clicking on "price" with a link to checkout through PayPal, minus tax (for outside of California). I will follow up with you in an email shortly after. If you prefer to pay by some other means, you can email me here, and we can work out a different form of payment.
Do you offer payment plans?
I sure do! A lot of people don't know it, but it's how I started selling my work many moons ago. I offer easy payment plans. All you have to do is ask (very simple!). We can figure it out.
Do you do commissions?
I do, but my policies on commissions are strict. I have to feel comfortable with the buyer being well acquainted with my work. Commissions are priced higher and are determined through lots of correspondence to insure you are fully satisfied with what you receive at the end of the process.
Is there any kind of guarantee when ordering from your website?
Absolutely! If for some reason you are unhappy with my work, you can return it within 30 days. I would hate to think you weren't fully satisfied, if not enthusiastic. However, there are no money back returns on commissions.
What kind of shipping do you offer?
Most shipping in the US is FREE! Insurance beyond half of the retail price is extra. I do my own packaging and shipping, usually through UPS, and am very meticulous when packaging my work. We can work out which speed works best for you.
How long have you been making art?
Since I was a child - before I can even remember. But I got serious about art at age 16 when I sold my first painting.
Are you a full-time artist?
Yes. I became a full time artist in 1997.
What mediums do you use?
Mostly oil paint, sometimes with elements of collage, like thick pattern paper. I'm also known to use textiles, sewing, and embroidery in my oil paintings. I also make watercolor paintings, soft sculptures, Artist's books, video, and installation projects.
Do you do private studio visits?
It depends. I have a home studio in Joshua Tree, CA, and not everyone is welcome into my private home, but I can arrange a virtual studio visit. You can email me to set something up, or we can do a gallery visit in Santa Monica.
Do you offer artist prints?
Most of my prints are fine art prints (like etchings and serigraphs), which are limited editions. I don't have too many reproductions.
Who built your website?
This site was designed and built by myself and my partner, Hannah, and no, it is not a template. We designed it from scratch in code. It runs off a MySQL database and it is written in php/css using Bootstrap.
Can I pay you two to build a website like this one for me?
Nope, but I design websites (only for artists) on Squarespace.
Do you still play drums?
Very rarely. I stopped playing due to disabilities, but I still consider myself a drummer. I just hardly practice anymore.
Can you offer some advice for a beginner artist?
Yes. Here's one piece of advice for you: Whatever you do, no matter how bad it gets, don't ever give up. If you would like more advice, email me or follow my blog. I give advice there once in a while.
How can I get free Dan stickers?
Just email me your address and I'll send them to you.
