GENÉTICO?
Para hablar acerca del código genético debemos tener en claro: ¿Que es
un código? Un código es un conjunto de símbolos que agrupados de una
determinada manera nos permiten convertir la información de una forma
a otra. Ejemplos de códigos son el código Morse, nuestro alfabeto, o el
lenguaje de signos. Así mismo la célula también utiliza un código, en
otras palabras, es el lenguaje que les permite traducir la información del
ADN para formar proteínas y consta de 64 combinaciones de codones
(grupo de 3 nucleótidos) y los aminoácidos correspondientes.

El código genético es muy importante, por lo que el simple hecho de sabernos dicho
lenguaje (como mencionábamos anteriormente) es de suma importancia, ya que el código
genético permite predecir las secuencias de nucleótidos que codifican la expresión de
diversas proteínas y detectar anomalías en la expresión de estas biomoléculas, por tanto ha
sido definitivamente de gran importancia para la ciencia y para la humanidad en general.
Ciertamente, este, posibilita la modificación genética de organismos para servir de mejor
manera a las necesidades humanas. Ejemplo, de esta circunstancia puede ofrecerlo la
existencia de vegetales modificados que son más resistentes a las plagas o que tienen algún
tipo de ventaja nutricional, sin embargo, no todo es color de rosas, este tipo de
conocimiento puede dar lugar a usos indebidos y poco escrupulosos que entrañen peligros
difíciles de sopesar con exactitud.
