Y LLEGÓ DAVID...
Saúl, el rey de Israel, había desobedecido el mandato de Dios sobre cómo actuar en la
guerra contra Amalec.
Al tener Saúl esta actitud desobediente, el Señor lo rechazó como rey y mandó al
profeta Samuel a ungir el próximo rey de Israel.
Entonces se fué el profeta Samuel de camino a Belén para ungir a un nuevo rey, por
orden del Señor.
Al llegar a Belén, los ancianos salieron a recibirle con preocupación, pero Samuel los
invitó a hacer un sacrificio juntos.
Al encontrar a Isaí y su familia, los invitó al sacrificio. Samuel, al ver a los hijos de Isaí
empezó a pensar en cuál de ellos sería el ungido aceptado por Dios.
Pasó delante Eliab, y pensó Samuel:
– “Ciertamente delante del Señor está su ungido.” (1 Samuel 16.6).
Al ser conocedor el Señor de estos pensamientos, le replicó diciendo:
– “No mires a su parecer, ni a lo grande de su estatura, porque yo lo
desecho; porque el Señor no mira lo que mira el hombre, pues el hombre
mira lo que está delante de sus ojos, pero el Señor mira el corazón.”
(1 Samuel 16.7).
Con estas palabras el Señor descartó a Eliab y después al resto de los hijos de Isaí.
Pero cuando parecía que no habían encontrado al ungido entre ellos, Isaí mandó a
buscar a su hijo menor que estaba apacentando las ovejas.
Y así fue como llegó David, era rubio, de hermosos ojos y de buen parecer. Entonces
el Señor dijo:
– “ Levántate y úngelo, porque este es”. (1 Samuel 16.12).
AND DAVID ARRIVED...
Saúl, the king of Israel, was disobeyed the mandate of God about how to act in the
war against Amalec.
By having Saúl this disobedient attitude, the LORD rejected it as a king and he send
the prophet Samuel to anoint the next king of Israel.
So the prophet Samuel goes by the way to Bethlehem, to anoint the new king, by order
of the LORD.
When arrive to Bethlehem, the elderly comes to receive him with concern, but Samuel
invited them to do sacrifices toghether.
When finding Jesse and his family, invited them to the sacrifices. Samuel, seeing the
children of Jesse started to think who of then was the anoint accepted by God.
Passed ahead Eliab, and Samuel thought:
– “Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD” .
(1 Samuel 16.6).
Being aware this thought, the LORD replied saying:
– “Do not consider his apearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The
LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward
appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” . (1 Samuel 16.7).
With these words the LORD rejected Eliab and the rest of Jesse sons .
But when it seemed doesn't had fount the anoint between them, Jesse sent to find his
youngest son, who was tending the sheep.
And that's how David arrive, he was blonde, with beautiful eyes and good appearance.
Then the LORD said:
– “ Rise and anoint him; this is the one”. (1 Samuel 16.12).
