Introducción

¡Bienvenidos a Practical English! Es un placer para nosotros ayudarte a adquirir


competencias lingüísticas por medio a este material. Si has conseguido este material es
porque estás tomando un curso básico de inglés y es muy probable que seas un True
Beginner, es decir un aprendiz principiante. No te preocupes, te ayudaremos a
aprender de forma sencilla.

Por medio a este libro aprenderás vocabulario y expresiones básicas sobre temas
cotidianos, tales como dar información personal, identificar objetos, hablar sobre el
clima, la ropa, entre otros. Nuestra metodología se basa en el Communicative
Language Teaching (o enseñanza comunicativa del idioma). En la mayoría de
actividades tendrás que trabajar con un compañero o en grupo y compartir
información. Tu profesor será un facilitador que le servirá como un guía en tu proceso
de aprendizaje y tu salón de clase será como un gimnasio donde pondrás en práctica
lo aprendido.

Al principio de cada unidad tendrás los objetivos que debes alcanzar y el vocabulario
que debes aprender (en inglés y español). Cada unidad está dividida en varias
secciones: Language Contact, Language Note, Conversation, y Practice Makes Perfect.
En la sección Language Contact practicarás el nuevo vocabulario. En la sección de
Language Note practicarás la gramática. En la sección conversation podrás practicar el
uso del vocabulario y la gramática en un contexto. Finalmente, en la sección de
Practice Makes Perfect, tendrás algunas ideas de cómo seguir practicando de forma
comunicativa lo aprendido en cada objetivo de aprendizaje.

En esta nueva edición incluimos códigos QR los cuales puedes escanear desde tu
celular con una aplicación de lector de códigos QR. Una aplicación que podemos
recomendar es i-nigma. Los códigos QR funcionaran como un enlace para que puedas
acceder a videos de Youtube o páginas web que te ayudaran a entender mejor las
lecciones.

¡Esperamos que este material te sirva de mucho y que pueda maximizar tu


aprendizaje!

Ideas útiles para el aprendizaje independiente


1. Lleva un cuaderno de vocabulario donde anote todas las nuevas
palabras y expresiones. Podrías llevar un banco de palabras y
expresiones debajo de un tema dado. (Por ejemplo, días de la
semana)
2. Si te gusta la música, escucha las canciones en inglés, escribe la
letra y trata de traducirla a tu idioma.
3. Lleva un diario de las cosas que haces en el salón de clases. Escribe
tus sentimientos y opiniones.
4. Trata de leer tanto como puedas en inglés: Revistas, periódico,
lecturas simplificadas, libros bilingües, instrucciones de maquinas,
etc.
5. Grábate leyendo un texto en inglés. Escucha tu grabación muchas
veces y compárala con la de la lectura de un nativo lector.
6. Encuentra hablantes nativos en tu pueblo con los cuales puedas
practicar.
7. Trata de trabajar con materiales de autoestudio, tales como
ejercicios de gramática con las respuestas incluidas, ejercicios de
escuchar, lectura comprensiva, etc.
8. Usa bueno diccionarios. Debes considerar usar glosarios bilingües
con buena distinción de palabras.
