The Baby Bolter is a printable frame and decorative

accessories used to complete a MAC11 parts kit, in the style of a
Bolter from Warhammer 40,000. The Baby Bolter uses swappable
side plates, similar to the DB Alloy, that can be either printed (if
only being used for decoration) or laser cut from steel through Send
Cut Send, which will add a great deal of strength.

The Baby Bolter utilizes either

printed or modified Sten
magazines courtesy of
MPRTech, an AR15 FCG, and
an AR15 grip of your choice, but
one has been included in the
build files that is big and
chunky enough to give the user
proper leverage for one-handed
shooting such a front heavy
pistol

This file drop includes parts to make either

a 9mm version, using real or printed STEN
magazines, OR a 5.7x28mm version
utilizing FN Five-seveN magazines. There
is also the option to adorn your Bolter with
laser cut metal OR printed side plates in
two flavors: Loyalists, featuring the
Imperial Aquilla, or Chaos featuring the
eight pointed Star of Chaos

The Frame should be printed deck-down, magazine well up, nose up at a 15 degree
angle to get the strongest, cleanest print possible with the least amount of
support material.
Note: you MUST print it at this angle to avoid creating a weakness at the
point where the pistol grip attaches, which will cause fractures along the
layer lines there if printed flat.
Print settings:

These parts should all be printed in the orientations shown:
Top: Oriented as it would sit on the finished gun
Barrel Shroud: On it's end, the box-like structure up
Frame Tip: pic rails down, nose up 15 degrees
9mm Mag Catch: On it's side
5.7 mag catch: with protruding block and spring pocket up
Lock Block: On it's bottom, as it would be oriented on the finished gun
These orientations allow for the cleanest prints with the least amount of support
and/or will best hide support scarring.
Print settings as follows:
Walls: 4-5 (alternating walls ON)
Infill: 99%, Lines, Infill direction [45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270, 315]
This infill pattern does the best job of preventing holes from layer gaps lining
up, and evenly distributes internal stress forces in a way that helps to
reduce warping
These parts will be bearing forces and/or are small enough that they should
be printed solid, unlike the Frame, which can afford to be lighter weight

Plates
Ideally, the side plates should be ordered through SCS or some other service to
provide the best look and the most structural strength. However, beta testing
showed they're not structurally required and can be instead printed to save
money. You should, however, still get or make the side plates as they are not only
an aesthetic feature that pulls together the look of the project, but they also hide
seams and holes, as well as take up space needed for the listed hardware to fit
properly

Print the Magazine components as shown here. Everything ought to default to the
correct position. Print these using the same 99% infill settings we used before:
Walls: 4-5 (alternating walls ON)

Attach the FRAME TIP to the cleat on the front of the

FRAME and secure it in place with one 6-32 x 1” hex
screw and one low strength hex nut

Slide your handguard onto the rail on the bottom of the FRAME. Insert a Binding

② Barrel into each of the holes on the left side. Insert a 6-32x2” screw into each of
the holes on the right side, and tighten. Insert the NIB into the HANDGUARD and
fix it in place with superglue or two part epoxy. This part is only decorative, so
only needs to be attached enough to not pop off under recoil

AR15 FCG

Install your AR15 FCG in the typical way. If you are

unsure how, consult a tutorial on YouTube. It is
important to replace the hammer spring with a
reduced power spring -OR- replace the firing pin
that came with your kit with a hardened pin. The
standard AR15 hammer spring will break a
standard MAC11 firing pin

Lower Parts Kit through the GRIP and
Grip gently thread it into the hole on the
FRAME. The first time you do this you will
