Estamos muy emocionados de que os quedéis aquí y esperamos que disfrutéis mucho de vuestra estancia
en Vigo.

SOBRE LA CASA y CERCANÍAS:

En la casa encontrarás una Guía de la Casa, similar a esta, donde te detallaremos supermercados,
restaurantes, estacionamientos, farmacias y, en general, puntos de interés. Si necesitas algo antes,
haznoslo saber.
Pero te adelanto unos sitios que a mi me gustan, por si quieres organizar algo de tu viaje.

SITIOS QUE NO TE PUEDES PERDER EN VIGO:

Casco Vello:
Zona histórica de la ciudad con mucho ambiente, lleno de sitios para poder picar, cenar y tomar una copa
en un ambiente informal. Aquí se encuentra el famoso Mercado de la Piedra -aunque en este momento
está cerrado- y la conocida Calle de las Ostras, las cuales puedes disfrutar con una buena botella de
albariño.
Para comer hay cientos de opciones turísticas en esa calle, mi recomendación es que subas un poco hacia
la calle del Triunfo y ahí encontrarás El Capitán y/o el clásico Mosquito, no son sitios económicos, pero
son restaurantes que en calidad nunca fallan.
Además de estos, con cocina un poco moderna y más económica tienes La Favorita, La Juanita, La
Comidilla, Lume de Carozo y La Central.
Cocina de mar, muy moderna, -cocina sin vergüenza, o sinvergüenza, dicen ellos- en el Niño Corvo.
Magnífico, moderno, pero reserva, es difícil encontrar sitio.
No dejes de visitar el mítico sitio de bocatas de jamón asado de Vigo, O Porco, ni sitios tan emblemáticos
como La Colegiata (Concatedral de Vigo) con su figura del Cristo de la Victoria, la calle de los cesteros,
Instituto Camoes, Plaza de la Constitución, Biblioteca Penzol y el Arco de Quirós.

Montero Ríos y Alameda (Plaza de Compostela​): La zona más verde del centro de la ciudad, ambos
están a un paso, y llenos de terrazas donde los más pequeños también podrán disfrutar.
En la Alameda resaltamos varios sitios, el Vitruvia para desayunar o tomar algo está muy bien. Estrella
Galicia , para tomar una rica cerveza o incluso comer, y O Rei Pescador, muy buen restaurante -para mi,
un imprescindible de Vigo-, con todo fresco del día, la calidad se paga, pero merece la pena. También
tenemos un restaurante en la zona galardonado con una Estrella Michelin y dos Soles Repsol, de la mano
de Rafa Centeno e Inés Abril, El Maruja Limón, con menús degustación desde 48€.
Albatros con unas vistas increíbles, en la estación marítima funciona como restaurante y cafetería.
Puedes tomarte una cervecita con el mejor atardecer de la ciudad.

Otros sitios recomendables cerca de la zona son el Restaurante El Puerto (Republica Argentina 15). Si has
leído a Domingo Villar, es donde come a veces Leo Caldas. Pescados y marisco fresco a muy buen precio.
Rias Baixas 2, en la misma calle, popular entre turistas. Destaca el marisco a precio excepcional.
Por la zona de Areal / Rosalía de Castro encontraréis también muchos y variados locales. En esta zona es
relevante el ocio nocturno. Si quieres tomar una copa por la noche, no puedes dejar de visitar el Twenty
Century Rock -otro imprescindible de Vigo-, en Areal 18.

Policarpo Sanz y calle del Príncipe ​son calles paralelas donde la primera con sus majestuosos
edificios burgueses en piedra ( Teatro García Barbón, La Sede Fundación Abanca y su su buena muestra de
pintura gallega, la Casa de As Artes) y su espléndida colección monográfica del no menos espléndido
Laxeiro, nos acerca la Puerta del Sol. Desde la Puerta del Sol puedes subir al Castillo de O Castro -es una
buena subida, pero las vistas valen la pena-.
En la Puert del Sol encuentras El Sireno, ya convertido en símbolo característico de nuestra ciudad. Desde
allí te adentras en la calle del Príncipe, emblemática calle peatonal y zona comercial de Vigo, llena de
tiendas de todo tipo y donde también podréis visitar Marco , Museo de Arte Contemporáneo.
(Otros museos como Quiñones de León y El Museo del Mar, nos los encontraremos un poco más alejados.
El primero en en el parque de Castrelos con sus preciosos jardines y el segundo llegando a Samil).

Islas Cíes​: Esta es una de las visitas más recomendables de Vigo y su entorno. Las Islas Atlánticas son un
maravilloso parque natural, al que sólo hay barco en verano y determinados festivos y fines de semana. Te
recomiendo comprar los billetes y el permiso con antelación ya que a veces es difícil
conseguirlo.
La compra del billete se puede hacer o bien online (​www.mardeons.com o ​www.piratasdenabia.com son las
navieras más conocidas). o en la misma oficina de Montero Ríos, en el paseo marítimo. Tanto en la web
como en sus oficinas te explicarán cómo sacar el billete y el permiso (OJO, hay que tener ambas cosas)
Importante no olvidarse de echarse una buena protección solar… el paseo en barco y la brisa marina
engañan, y mucha gente viene con importantes quemaduras.
No debemos olvidarnos de que es un Parque Natural: no se admiten ni bicicletas, ni animales, y en las islas
no existen contenedores: ¡¡la basura hay que traerla de vuelta!!
Nada más llegar está la Playa de Rodas, nombrada la mejor del mundo. Es maravillosa, pero si das un
pequeño paseo verás muchas más, de las cuales cada una tiene su propio encanto. No dudes en hacer la
ruta hasta el Faro y/o Mirador de la Reina, hay unas vistas de toda la Ría impresionantes.
ZONA PLAYAS
Samil: La playa urbana de Vigo y sin duda la más turística. Varias líneas de autobús te llevarán -puedes
ver líneas y horarios en ​www.vitrasa.es​- Varios sitios para comer en la zona como el Beach Club, y
bocaterias como Corner Hut -un clásico de Vigo- o Mcdonalds.

O Vao: Preciosa playa un poco más lejos de Samil, a la que también se puede llegar en autobús urbano
-puedes ver líneas y horarios en ​www.vitrasa.es​-. Aquí está el Beach Escolas, funciona bastante bien,
podremos comer, hacer actividades tipo windsurf, paddle surf, kayak… . Entre otras opciones para comer
esta As Barricas al lado de la Capilla donde te deja el autobús.

Patos, Playa América, Bayona: Si tienes coche podrás visitar otras de las grandes playas de la zona.
Patos, ambiente joven y surfero; Playa América, la gran playa del sur de la ría, y Bayona, precioso pueblo
marinero, son tres que no te puedes perder.

Cangas y Moaña: En barco -salen desde el mismo muelle que los barcos a Cíes- puedes ir a Cangas y
Moaña. En ambos sitios encontrarás buenas playas a las que ir andando. Es, sin duda, un “plan” muy
recomendable. Hablo de él más abajo.

ALREDEDORES
Sin coche...
Santiago de Compostela​: visita obligada. En Vigo hay dos estaciones de tren: Guixar y Urzáiz. En ambas
salen trenes a diferentes horas que te dejarán a unos minutos andando del centro de Santiago. De hecho,
aunque tengas coche, te recomiendo ir en tren.
La Catedral y su entorno, así como callejear por sus soportales, la plaza del Obradoiro y el Hostal Reyes
Católicos hacen de Santiago una ciudad con un encanto especial.

Cangas y Moaña​. Precioso paseo de 25 minutos en barco por la ría. Barcos a diferentes horas y no hará
falta reserva previa. Yo como en el paseo de Cangas en O Bruño, y en El Bathía cuando voy a Moaña, que
está justo donde te deja el barco. Ambos con un pescado excelente. Te sorprenderán ambos con sus vistas
y relación calidad/precio. Tanto en Moaña como en Cangas encontraréis playas para darse un chapuzón, y
buenos parques para vuestros hijos.

Si cogemos el coche...
Vigo-Valença do Minho-Vila- Nova de Cerveira- La Guardia- Sta Tecla- Sta María de Oia-
Baiona- Vigo​. Ruta circular más que recomendable de unos 100 kilómetros. No es la más conocida
-Sanxenxo y A Toxa son más turísticos- pero a mí es la que más me gusta. Te la recomiendo
encarecidamente.
Primero Tui , precioso en la frontera con Portugal, con una impresionante Catedral y casco histórico.
Después podéis cruzar por el puente viejo -diseñado por Eiffel- y visitar Valença do Minho -ciudad frontera
con España por el norte de Portugal-. Precioso pueblo amurallado donde se vende un fantástico y muy
económico textil -famosas sus toallas y sábanas-. El miércoles hay mercado.
Desde Valença, por el lado portugués, seguimos hasta Vila Nova de Cerveira. Es un precioso pueblo al
norte de Portugal a 10 kilómetros de Valença, sus cafés y pasteles en la plaza son famosos. El sábado hay
un fantástico mercado. Desde allí puedes cruzar por el puente internacional, o seguir unos 10 kilómetros
para conocer Camiña, otro hermoso pueblo portugués, y cruzar en ferry -busca horarios en la web-.
En el puerto de la Guardia hay muchos sitios donde comer buen pescado o marisco. La Guardia es la
capital de la langosta… pero no te olvides de visitar el Monte Sta Tecla. Es donde nació Galicia y uno de los
lugares más visitados de nuestra región -el tercero, después de la Catedral de Santiago y las Islas Cíes-.
Encontrarás un fantástico poblado celta y un mirador con vistas realmente espectaculares.
Volvemos a Vigo por una impresionante carretera al borde del mar que une Baiona y La Guardia. Entre
medias, nos encontramos con Sta María de Oia y su precioso monasterio.
En Bayona dad un paseo por el pueblo y visitad el Parador. Aquí llegó la primera carabela avisando del
descubierto América. Si queréis cenar en Baiona, hay muchos y muy buenos sitios, y tan sólo estáis a 25
kilómetros de Vigo.

Pontevedra-Combarro-Sanxenxo-A Toxa: Sitios de enorme potencial turístico y muy conocidos.

Pontevedra, pequeña ciudad a 20 kilómetros de Vigo con una zona vieja digna de visitar.
Yendo hacia Combarro, en Poio podrás ver el Monasterio de San Xoán y si queréis experimentar una
experiencia culinaria realmente agradable, pasaremos por dos restaurantes estrella Michelín, Casa Solla o
Pepe Vieira. En Combarro te encontrarás un pueblito pesquero donde verás casas marineras y los típicos
hórreos gallegos, en este caso, situados a la orilla del mar.
Sanxenxo y A Toxa son dos de los lugares más turísticos de Galicia. Sanxenxo es el litoral con más
banderas azules de toda España en sus playas. Restaurantes y zonas de Ocio llenas de ambiente en
Verano.
A Toxa , maravillosa isla con su famoso Casino y Balneario. Entre Sanxenxo y A Toxa, la playa de la
Lanzada y la península del Grove merecen una visita.

ABOUT THE HOUSE AND SURROUNDINGS:

But I advance some places that I like, in case you want to organize something of
your trip.

SITES YOU CANNOT MISS INTO FORCE:

- CascoVello:
Historic area of ​the city with lots of atmosphere, full of places to snack, dine and
have a drink in a casual atmosphere. Here is the famous Mercado de la Piedra -
although it is currently closed - and the well-known Calle de las Ostras, which you
can enjoy with a good bottle of Albariño.
To eat there are hundreds of tourist options on that street, my recommendation is
that you go up a little towards Triunfo Street and there you will find El Capitan
and/or the classic Mosquito, they are not cheap places, but they are restaurants
that in quality never fail.
In addition to these, with a slightly modern and cheaper kitchen you have La
Favorita, La Comidilla, Lume de Carozo and La Central. (and more)
Sea cuisine, veeeeeery modern, - kitchen without shame, they say- in El Niño Corvo.
Magnificent, modern, but reserve, it's hard to find a place. Not cheap… but
incredible.
Do not forget to visit the mythical site of roasted ham sandwiches of Vigo: O Porco.
Or sites as emblematic as La Colegiata (Co-Cathedral of Vigo) with its figure of the
Christ of the Victory, the street of the basket makers, Camoes Institute, Plaza de la
Constitution, Penzol Library and the Arch of Quiros.

- Montero Ríos and Plaza de Compostela.

The greenest area of ​the city center, both are just a step away, and full of terraces
where the little ones can also enjoy.
In the Plaza de Compostela (called Alameda) we highlight several places, the
Vitrubia for breakfast or drink is very good. Mar Salada and O Rei Pescador, a very,
very good restaurants with everything fresh of the day. For me, a must-have in Vigo
-. The quality is paid, but it is worth it. We also have a restaurant in the area
awarded with a Michelin Star and two Repsol Suns, by Rafa Centeno and Inés Abril,
Maruja Limón, with tasting menus from over € 50.
Other recommended sites near the area are El Puerto Restaurant (Republica
Argentina 15). If you have read Domingo Villar, it is where Leo Caldas sometimes
eats. Fresh fish and seafood at a great price. Rias Baixas 2, on the same street,
popular with tourists. The seafood stands out at an exceptional price.

There are also many and varied places to eat in Areal and Rosalía de Castro streets.
And a relevant nightlife. If you want to have a drink at night, you can not miss the
Twenty Century Rock - another essential of Vigo -, in Areal 18.

- Policarpo Sanz and Calle del Príncipe

There are parallel streets where the first one with its majestic bourgeois stone
buildings (García Barbón Theater, the Abanca Foundation Headquarters and its
good sample of Galician painting, the House of As Arts) and its splendid
monographic collection of the no less splendid Laxeiro, the Puerta del Sol brings us
closer. From the Puerta del Sol you can climb to the Castle of O Castro - it is a good
climb, but the views are worth it.
In the Puerta del Sol you find El Sireno, already become a characteristic symbol of
our city. From there you enter the Principe street, emblematic pedestrian street and
commercial area of ​Vigo, full of shops of all kinds and where you can also visit
Marco, Museum of Contemporary Art.
(Other museums such as Quiñones de León and El Museo del Mar, we will find them
a little further away. The first in the park of Castrelos with its beautiful gardens and
the second arriving in Samil).

- Cíes Islands.
This is one of the most recommended visits to Vigo and its surroundings. The
Atlantic Islands are a wonderful Natural Park, to which there is only boat in summer
and certain holidays and weekends. I recommend you buy tickets and permission in
advance as sometimes it is difficult to get it.
The purchase of the ticket can be done either online (​www.mardeons.com or
www.piratasdenabia.com are the best known shipping companies) or in the same
office of Montero Ríos, on the seafront. Both on the web and in their offices they will
explain to you how to get the ticket and the Government Permission (EYE, you have
to have both) It is important not to forget to take a good sunscreen ... the boat ride
and the sea breeze deceive, and a lot people come with major burns.
We must not forget that it is a Natural Park: no bicycles or animals are allowed, and
there are no containers on the islands: the garbage must be brought back!
Upon arrival is the Playa de Rodas, named the best in the world. It is wonderful, but
if you take a little walk you will see many more, of which each has its own charm. Do
not hesitate to make the route to the Lighthouse and / or Mirador de la Reina, there
are stunning views of the entire Ria.
BEACH AREA
Samil: The urban beach of Vigo and without a doubt the most tourist. Several bus
lines will take you - you can see lines and schedules at ​www.vitrasa.es - Several
places to eat in the area such as the Beach Club, and snacks such as Corner Hut - a
classic from Vigo - or Mcdonalds.
O Vao: ​Beautiful beach a little further from Samil, which can also be reached by

SURROUNDINGS
- Without a car...
Santiago de Compostela: ​a must see. In Vigo there are two train stations: Guixar
and Urzáiz. In both trains depart at different times that will leave you a few minutes
walk from the center of Santiago. In fact, even if you have a car, I recommend you
go by train.
The Cathedral and its surroundings, as well as stroll through its arcades, the Plaza
del Obradoiro and the Hostal Reyes Católicos make Santiago a city with a special
charm.
Cangas and Moaña. Beautiful 25-minute boat ride along the estuary. Ships at
different times and no previous reservation will be necessary. I eat on the Cangas
promenade in O Bruño, and in El Bathía when I go to Moaña, which is right where
the boat leaves you. Both with excellent fish. You will be surprised both with their
views and value for money. In both Moaña and Cangas you will find beaches to take
a dip, and good parks for your children.

- If we take the car...

Vigo-Valença do Minho-Vila- Nova de Cerveira- La Guardia- Sta Tecla- Sta María
de Oia- Baiona- Vigo. Circular route more than recommended of about 100
kilometers. It is not the best known - Sanxenxo and A Toxa are more touristy - but I
like it the most. I highly recommend it.
First Tui, beautiful on the border with Portugal, with an impressive Cathedral and
historic center. Then you can cross the old bridge - designed by Eiffel - and visit
Valença do Minho - a city bordering Spain through northern Portugal. Beautiful
walled town where a fantastic and very economical textile is sold - famous towels
and sheets. On Wednesday there is a market.
From Valença, on the Portuguese side, we continue to Vila Nova de Cerveira. It is a
beautiful town north of Portugal 10 kilometers from Valença, its cafes and cakes in
the square are famous. On Saturday there is a fantastic market. From there you
can cross the international bridge, or continue about 9 km to get to know Camiña,
another beautiful Portuguese town, and cross by ferry - look for schedules-..
In the port of La Guardia there are many places to eat good fish or seafood. La
Guardia is the capital of lobster ... but don't forget to visit Monte Sta Tecla. It is
where Galicia was born and one of the most visited places in our region - the third,
after the Cathedral of Santiago and the Cíes Islands. You will find a fantastic Celtic
town and a viewpoint with really spectacular views.
We return to Vigo by an impressive road at the edge of the sea: Baiona and La
Guardia road. There, also we find Sta María de Oia and its beautiful monastery.
In Baiona (Bayonne) take a walk through the town and visit the Parador. Here came
the first caravel warning of the discovery of America. If you want to have dinner in
Baiona, there are many and very good places, and you are only 25 kilometers from
Vigo.

Pontevedra-Combarro-Sanxenxo-A Toxa: ​Sites of enormous tourist potential and

well known. Pontevedra, a small town 20 kilometers from Vigo with an old area worth
visiting.
Going to Combarro, in Poio you can see the Monastery of San Xoán and if you want
to experience a really pleasant culinary experience, we will pass by two Michelin star
restaurants, Casa Solla or Pepe Vieira. In Combarro you will find a fishing village
where you will see fishing houses and the typical Galician granaries, in this case,
located on the seashore.
Sanxenxo and A Toxa are two of the most touristic places in Galicia. Sanxenxo is
the coast with more blue flags of all Spain on its beaches. Restaurants and leisure
areas full of atmosphere in Summer.
To A Toxa, wonderful island with its famous Casino and Spa. Between Sanxenxo
and A Toxa, the Lanzada beach and the Grove peninsula are worth a visit.
