COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES
Utilizamos el grado comparativo y superlativo de adjetivos para expresar comparaciones dependiendo
del ntimero de personas, objetos, grupos, etc.
‘COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES
Los adjetivos comparativos son utilizados para comparar 2 dos personas o cosas.
© Para formar el grado comparativo de adjetivos cortos agregamos -er al final del adjetivo
seguido generalmente por la palabra than. Ejemplo:
tall= alto. > Martinis taller than Lucas.
(Martin es mas alto que Lucas)
= Para adjetivos largos colocamos la palabra more antes del adjetivo seguido por la palabra
than, Ejemplo:
beautiful = hermoso/a > Maria is more beautiful than Tina.
(Maria es mas hermosa que Tina)
SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES
Los adjetivos superlativos son utilizados para comparar 3 0 mds personas 0 cosas.
‘> Para formar el grado superlativo de adjetivos cortos colocamos el articulo the antes del
adjetivo y le agregamos -est al final. Ejemplo:
tall = alto -> Martin is the tallest member of the family.
(Martin es el mas alto miembro de la familia)
= Para adjetivos largos escribimos the most antes del adjetivo. Ejemplo:
beautiful = hermoso/a > Pampita is the most beautiful model in Argentina.
(Maria es la modelo mas hermosa en Argentina) = Adjetivos cortos terminados en consonante + vocal + consonante ® duplicamos la ultima
consonante.
BIG: grande ‘A whale is bigger than a dolphin.
(Una ballena es mas grande que un delfin)
