1.2. GENERAL PURPOSE

The heating function is obtained by the heater placed inside the stainless steel tank.
The water pump in the stainless steel tank continuously circulates the water in the
tank to obtain homogeneous temperature distribution. The water baths are
microprocessor controlled units.

2
SECTION 2

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

2.1. GENERAL OVERVIEW

The water baths may be split into 3 main groups;

• Power supply values

• Control unit
• Heating unit

2.2. EXPLANATIONS FOR FUNCTIONS

2.2.1. Power Supply Values

The electrical specifications of the BM 302 and BM 402 are as follows;

Glass Fuse Power Power Supply Heater Type

Consumption
BM 302 2x4A 780 W 230V Stainless steel pipe type 750 W

BM 402 2x8A 1530 W 230V Stainless steel pipe type 1500 W

2.2.2. Main PCB

The microprocessor controlled main PCB operates on “PID” controlling system. Excluding
the water pump, all other control elements are connected to main PCB. These are;

1. Thermocouple
2. Keyboard and display PCB
3. Power supply terminals of heaters

3
2.2.3. Keyboard and Display PCB

SERVICING
Caution: Before servicing the instrument, please take the necessary precautions for
your health. Please respect to the warnings on the unit!!

3.1. GENERAL OVERVIEW

Failures can be diagnosed according to the following tables.

Most of the arising problems can be determined by the help of a multimeter.

The elements on the PCB must not be replaced even the failure is found to be caused by the
main PCB . In this case, please send the failed PCB to factory servicing team along with a
note on which the failure explanations are written.

Before replacing the PCB or any other control element, please make sure that the failure is
not caused by weak wire and terminal connections.

CALIBRATION
4.1. HOW TO MEASURE THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE

• Fill the tank with distilled water / liquid until maximum level
• Make the program and press “START” button
• Wait approximately 1/2 hours before measuring the actual temperature by a
calibrated external temperature sensor
• Be sure that calibrated external sensor does not touch anywhere in the tank, it
measures only the liquid’s temperature.
• If there is difference between the equipment’s display and the external sensor
apply the calibration procedure.

4.2. CALIBRATION PROCEDURE

1. Switch off the equipment and switch it on again, equipment’s code appears on the
time display, note the code down.
2. Push "Value Decrease" until "PASS" appears on the temperature display.
3. Change "P" to "E" by pushing "Value Increase" key and validate by pushing
"Value Decrease" key, change “A” to “E” by pushing "Value Increase" key and
validate by pushing "Value Decrease" key, change “S” to “7” by pushing "Value
Increase" key and validate by pushing "Value Decrease" key and change “S” to
“6” by pushing "Value Increase" key and validate by pushing "Value Decrease"
key. (This means changing the "PASS" to "EE76") and see that "Etu2" appears.
4. Push "Value Increase" and choose the equipment’s code.
5. Push "STOP" to validate.
6. "onoF" will appear, press value increase key and see “orAn” press "STOP" to
validate.
7. “orbn” will appear, press “STOP”
8. “CnPr” will appear, press “STOP”
9. “Prt” will appear, press “STOP”
10. “tı” will appear, press “STOP”
11. “td” will appear, press “STOP”
12. “oFSt” will appear, press “STOP”
13. “toLr” will appear, press “STOP”
14. “FiLt” will appear, press “STOP”
15. “dEid” will appear, press “STOP”
16. “Corr” will be seen. This parameter is the calibration parameter
17. There will be a value seen on the display.
18. Push "Value Increase" and "Value Decrease" keys to adjust the calibration value.
19. FOR EXAMPLE the actual temperature is 22,5°C but the display shows 20°C.
You should increase the value seen on the display 2.5 by pushing “Value
Increase Key”
Then press “STOP” for the last time to save.

NOTE: DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER PARAMETERS!!!

5.5. REPLACING HEATER

• Remove the heater protection sheet after removing the screws.

• Disconnect the heater terminals.
• Remove the heater connection nuts, nut washers and the gaskets form the bottom of the
unit.
• Take the faulty heater out.
• Place the new heater in the tank.
• Fix the nuts, nut washers and the new gaskets of the new heater onto the bottom of the
water bath. The leakage of the liquid is arisen from the gasket. Pay attention not to
damage the gasket during installation.
• Connect the terminals.
• Fill water in the tank and check that no leakage occur on the connection points and on
the gaskets.

9
5.6. REPLACING PLASTIC PANEL

• Remove the plastic panel from the panel sheet.

• Clean the surface of the panel by alcohol etc.
• Paste carefully the new plastic panel paying attention.

5.7. REPLACING WATER PUMP

• Remove the nuts under the tank table(grid) and take the table out.
• Disconnect the water pump terminals.
• Remove the water pump-stainless steel tank connection records.
• Remove the water pump’s chassis connection sheet and take the faulty water pump out.
• Take the pump body bottom cover out.
• Take the propeller on the motor shaft.
• Remove the motor from the pump body by removing the upper connection screws.
• Remove the upper propeller on the motor and mount it to the new motor shaft.
• Mount the motor to the pump body and tighten the connection screws.
• Place the other propeller to the motor shaft from the pump body bottom.
• Place the pump body bottom cover.
• Use new o-rings and make the water pump-stainless steel tank connections.
• Make the water pump chassis connections.
• Connect the terminals.
