Cleopatra V Tryphaena.

Macedonian Greek descent. His father was Ptolemy XII Auletes and his mother was probably
Cleopatra V Tryphaena.
Cleopatra acceded to the throne of Egypt in 51 BC, after the death of her father. He initially
reigned alongside his younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, but tensions arose between them.
During his reign he sought to maintain the power and independence of Egypt through strategic
alliances with Rome.
After Caesar's death in 44 BC, Cleopatra became romantically involved with Mark Antony, one of
the most powerful Roman leaders of the time. Their relationship was consolidated politically and
they had three children together: Alexander Helios, Cleopatra Selene II and Ptolemy Philadelphus.
After the defeat of Mark Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium in 31 B.C. By the forces of
