TEXTO INSTRUCTIVO
“EL PATITO FEO”
I. Objetivos de aprendizaje:
Desarrollar la comprensión lectora.
Fomentar la participación de los niños durante la sesión.
Aprendizaje de vocabulario nuevo.
Incentivar el uso del vocabulario básico del idioma inglés.

La historia se desarrolla en una granja.
Actividades:
Previas:
Presentación del libro: „The Ugly Duckling‟.
Identificar el contexto donde se va a desarrollar el cuento: al hablar de un pato
dónde podemos ubicar esta historia en la granja y el campo.
Durante:
Los integrantes del grupo dramatizan las vivencias del personaje en esa historia
con su correspondiente caracterización, para que los niños participen en la
historia y observen la pronunciación y la entonación, que posteriormente les
solicitaremos reproducir.
Después:
A modo de resumen presentamos unas imágenes a los niños, para que indiquen
cuál es su nombre correspondiente en inglés.
Historia:
It is summer. Mother duck has got six eggs. Five eggs break and five yellow
ducklings come out. But the sixth egg doesn’t break. Later, the sixth egg breaks.
‘Oh no! This duckling is ugly!,’ shouts mother duck.
Come on, ducklings. Let’s go and visit the hen. She looks at the ugly duckling
and she says, ‘Walk behind your brothers and sisters. I don’t want to see you.
You are ugly!’
‘Look! That duckling is silly!,’ says the hen. ‘He has short legs. He’s grey. His
beak is silly. He’s an ugly duckling!’ Next day, the ugly duckling leaves. He’s
crying because nobody likes him. He walks and walks. He sees some insects.
‘Hello!’ He says, but the insects don’t talk to the ugly duckling. Nobody loves
him…
The ugly duckling is afraid. He hides in the grass. The big dog run into the grass.
It sees the ugly duckling. ‘The dog doesn’tlike me because I’m ugly,’ says the
ugly duckling.
The ugly duckling walks and walks. He sees a house. There was a woman
cooking. ‘I’m hungry,’ he says. The old woman looks at the ugly duckling. ‘You’re
a funny duckling,’ she says. ‘Are you ungry? Eat this food.’
Now it is autumm. It is cold. The ugly duckling walks and walks. He looks at the
sky and he sees some white birds. They are beautiful. The ugly duckling wants
to fly, but his wings are too small.
Winter. It is very cold and there is lots of snow. Suddenly a man wanted to catch
him butthe ugly duckling jumped. ‘Look! He can fly!’ The winter months finished.
But now it is sunny. It is spring. The white birds come back. ‘Those birds are
beautiful, but I m ugly,’ says the ugly duckling.
The ugly duckling wants to talk to the white birds. ‘Hello. I m ugly, but please be
my friends,’ he says.The white birds smile. They like the ugly duckling
‘Hello little brother,’ say the white birds. ‘Brother? I m not your brother,’ says the
ugly duckling. ‘You aren t ugly. Look at your face in the water,’ say the white birds.
He sees his face. He is very surprised. He isn t ugly. He is a beautiful white bird!
Three children see the swans. ‘Look! Look!’ They say. ‘There s a new swan. He
s very beautiful.’ The new swan is shy. He hides his face under his wing. The
children like him. He isn t ugly. He is a beautiful white swan. ‘I m a swan.’ He
shouts.
The new swan remembers all the sad days, but he isn t angry. Everybody loves
the new swan. He has got lots of friends. He is very happy.

Representación teatral:
Primera escena:
Narrador: En la granja había un gran alboroto: los polluelos de Mamá Pata, estaban
rompiendo el cascarón.
(los patitos dicen cuak, cuak, cuak)
MP: ¡Es increíble!, pero… ¡Este patito es feo!
Narrador: Mamá pata se dio cuenta que uno de los patitos era muy distinto al resto.
Segunda escena:
MP: Vamos a patitos! Vamos a visitar a nuestra vecina gallina!
(mamá pato guia los patitos, lo patitos la siguen en un fila uno , detrás de otro)
(la gallina lo mira con asombro y desprecio)
Gallina: Camina detrás de tus hermanos. No quiero verte. ¡Tú eres feo!
(el patito se da un tropezón mientras sigue a su mamá)
(la gallina nuevamente lo mira con desprecio mientras exclama)
Gallina: ¡Todos miren, ese patito es tonto! Además tiene las piernas cortas y es gris ¡Ese
patito es muy feo!
(todos los animales se ríen mientras señalan al patito feo)
Perro: Guau Guau ¡Es cierto! Ese patito es muy feo
.
Oveja: ¡Pobre patito! mee! mee! ¡Ha nacido tan feo que nadie lo quiere!
Tercera escena:
Narrador: El patito feo está muy triste. Durante la noche, mientras su mamá y sus
hermanos dormían. Tomó la decisión de irse muy lejos.
(el patito se pone a llorar mientras se aleja de la granja y dice)
PF: Nadie me quiere en esta granja, todos me odian. Dicen que soy feo, pero no es
cierto…
(en ese momento mira su reflejo en el agua del estanque)
PF: Abu! Abu! Yo no soy feo, solo soy distinto a mis hermanos.
Cuarta escena:
Narrador: El patito feo ha caminado mucho y está muy cansado. En eso mira a una
mujer anciana.
Anciana: Hola pequeño patito, eres muy gracioso. Ven! como un poco de maíz y trigo!
(lanza maíz y trigo)
Narrador: El patito feo tenía mucha hambre y comió de los que le lanzaba la anciana.
(el patito feo comía muy emocionadamente)
Quinta escena:
Narrador: ¡Empieza el otoño! Las hojas de los árboles caen. Los animales hibernan y el
patito feo sigue caminando buscando donde poder descansar..
PF: Ese es un buen lugar, hay sombra y es un gran árbol.
