serve you Well for a long time to come.
Grindex pumps are designed and built
for continuous use in hostile working
conditions.
The service life of your Grindex pump
will depend to some extent on you. If
you want optimal service for the longest
possible time it's important that you
familiarise yourself with the advice and
directions given in these instructions.
We wish you the best of luck!
With cordial greetings

Installation and use
Read this before installing the pump
Check that you have received the right type of pump and that
the pump date corresponds with whet you ordered. The aim-
plest way to do ths is to check the particulars on the data
plate, which you will find on the main cover.

The rated voltage, rated current and maxmum power con-
sumption are particularly important. On the bases of these par-
ticulars you can check that you have the right power supply
and the right fuse.
If you Need further technical data please refer to the relevant

In order to decide what pump would be best for a

following:
‘+ Type of medium (sludge, abrasive, corrosive, eto.)
Infiow of liquid
Head
Desired pump capacity
Size of the pump sump
Size and length of discharge pipe, number of
bends and valves, ett., for calculation of pressure
losses
A\ WARNING!
Never enter the
hand into the
pump housing.
Respect limitations
‘* The pump must not be submerged to more
than 20 metresi65 feet, IP-68.
‘The temperature of the medium must not
exceed 40° C/103° F.
‘The pH-value should be between 5 and 8.
Tha voltage drop in operation must not
exceed 5%
‘* Maximum number of starts per hour:
Minex-Major 45 Maste-Maxi 45
‘Salvador-Super ‘Semi-Senator
* Maximum cable lenaths.
Excessively long cables cause voltage drops
that can result in malfunctions.
By using a cable of greater conductor oross-
section you reduce the voltage drop and can
therefor increase the cable length
Prassure losses
Long or unnecessarily smal-bore hoses give sub:
stantial pressure losses

To get the maximum service life out of your Grincex
pump we recommend that you heve it serviced
every 2,000 running hours
You can get good and queranteed service by
handing the pump to your neerest Grindex work-
shop. If you prefer to do the servicing yoursef we
refer you to the Grindex workshop manual.
Maintenance
Maintenance must be carried out after each tme
the pump is used and should cover tha following
points:
‘* Flush the pump clean outside and in. The insida
of the pump is flushed by way of the hose con-
action or through the inspection cover (in the
case of sludge pumps).
* Inspect the cable,
A\WARNING!
ifthe cable shally is damaged and the cable is lowered
into the water, the connection space may te filed with
‘water: If the cable is damaged it has tn be reniaced.
* Check that the head of the pump corresponds
with the given data. The easiest way to do this is
to use a pressure gauge.
Stockholding
Before the pump is returned to store it should be
put throigh maintenance as above.
Accessories
For all Grindex pumps there is a sefies of accesso-
ries that will expand their serviceability. You will find
the detais ina separate accessory brochure. ASk
your nearest Grindex representative to supply you
with one.
Connecting pumps in
series
In order to achieve greater pumping heads you can
connect two or mare Grindex drainage pumps in
series. For this purpose, a series connecting flange
is available as an accessory (see the separate
publication on accessories).
Conversion kits
Grindex drainage pumps come in the following
versions: low-pressure (L). normal-pressure (N) arid
figh-pressure (H). With a conversion kit, a pump
can easily be converted from one version to
another,
