En tiempos de desafíos y decisiones cruciales, encontramos la fortaleza en nuestra comunidad
unida, y este salón se convierte en un testimonio viviente de nuestra determinación compartida.
Miembros distinguidos de esta honorable audiencia, damas y caballeros. Es un honor y un
privilegio estar hoy ante ustedes para compartir reflexiones sobre un tema de profunda
importancia. Permítanme comenzar extendiendo mis más sinceros saludos a cada uno de
ustedes, y agradeciendo su amable presencia en este encuentro, como es de su conocimiento,
soy Franklin Roosevelt, presidente de USA.
Mis queridos compatriotas, hoy nos encontramos en un momento crítico de nuestra historia, un
momento en el que el mundo enfrenta desafíos que ponen a prueba nuestra determinación y
nuestra unidad. Como nación, hemos sido llamados a enfrentar las sombras de la adversidad y

Hace ya algunos años, en el amanecer de esta década, fuimos testigos de la violencia y la
agresión que se desataron en distintas partes del mundo. Una amenaza ominosa se alzó sobre
las naciones, y nuestro deber como defensores de la libertad fue claro: no podíamos permanecer
en la oscuridad del aislamiento. Los principios que sostenemos como nación se mantendrían
firmes ante la tempestad.
Hoy, aquí y ahora, cuando el estruendo de la guerra resuena en cada rincón del globo, debemos
recordar que nuestro compromiso con la justicia y la igualdad no puede ser silenciado. Las
cadenas de la opresión no pueden prevalecer sobre el clamor de la libertad. Es en esta hora
oscura que debemos elevarnos con valor y convicción, sabiendo que estamos en el camino
correcto.
No nos enfrentamos únicamente a un enemigo en el campo de batalla, sino a un enemigo que
busca sofocar los ideales de humanidad y civilización que hemos construido a lo largo de los
siglos. Nuestro enemigo busca sembrar la discordia y la desesperación, pero nosotros
respondemos con la fortaleza de nuestra unión y la resiliencia de nuestra determinación.

privilege to stand before you today to share thoughts on a subject of profound importance. Let
me begin by extending my most sincere greetings to each of you, and thanking you for your kind

My dear compatriots,
Today we find ourselves at a critical moment in our history, a moment when the world faces
challenges that test our resolve and our unity. As a nation, we have been called to face the
shadows of adversity and to defend the values that we consider fundamental to our freedom
and dignity.
A few years ago, at the dawn of this decade, we witnessed the violence and aggression that
broke out in different parts of the world. An ominous threat loomed over the nations, and our
duty as defenders of freedom was clear: we could not remain in the darkness of isolation. The
principles we hold to as a nation would stand firm in the face of the storm.
Today, here and now, when the roar of war resounds in every corner of the globe, we must
remember that our commitment to justice and equality cannot be silenced. The chains of
oppression cannot prevail over the cry of freedom. It is in this dark hour that we must rise with
courage and conviction, knowing that we are on the right path.
We are not just facing an enemy on the battlefield, but an enemy that seeks to stifle the ideals
of humanity and civilization that we have built over the centuries. Our enemy seeks to sow
discord and despair, but we respond with the strength of our union and the resilience of our
resolve.
Our armed forces fight with courage and sacrifice, defending our lands and our way of life. But
we, here at home, also have a crucial role to play. Each of us can contribute to this fight to the
extent that we keep hope and solidarity in our hearts. Production and joint effort at home are
equally powerful weapons in this struggle for peace.
As I have said before, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Let's not let fear cloud our
judgment or weaken our resolve. United, as a united nation, we can and will get through these
difficult times. We will look to the future with optimism and confidence, knowing that our
determination is unwavering and that destiny is in our hands.
In this great trial by fire, let us remember that we are united by ties stronger than adversity. Let
us remember that the power of hope and courage cannot be defeated. Let us move forward
with determination, certain that at the end of the day, the ideals of justice and liberty that we
hold dear will prevail.

tomorrow.
