 INTRODUCCIÓN
INTRODUCTION
La República Bolivariana de Venezuela cuenta con una de las mayores reservas de gas natural a nivel mundial, que la
ubican como el país con las mayores reservas en la región suramericana con 200,3 TCF de gas, según cifras oficiales del
año 2019. Venezuela se ha caracterizado por ser un país petrolero, y actualmente posee las reservas de petróleo más
grandes del mundo. En materia de gas, actualmente cerca del 87% de las reservas probadas corresponden a gas
asociado al petróleo, sin embargo, en las dos últimas décadas el estado Venezolano ha venido estructurando e
implementando una estrategia de desarrollo de gas no asociado, particularmente en las zonas donde existen amplias
expectativas tanto en costa afuera como en tierra firme.

La humanidad y sus grandes retos por incentivar el uso y desarrollo de energías más limpias y cónsonas con la lucha
contra el calentamiento global, está adaptándose a los grandes retos tecnológicos y financieros para cambiar como ya
viene sucediendo, la matriz energética mundial.

En tal sentido, y en virtud de su gran potencialidad gasífera Venezuela, está llamada a convertirse en una potencia en la
región, no solo por poseer las mayores reservas de gas, sino como productor y promotor del uso del Gas Natural como
energía confiable.

En esta nueva época de renacimiento que viene comenzando a transitar la economía venezolana, estamos
revolucionando las formas de hacer las cosas a partir de la confianza y el respaldo que genera nuestro potencial gasífero
a las nuevas inversiones de cara a consolidar no solamente la satisfacción de los requerimientos del mercado interno, si
no también del mercado internacional que permita a Venezuela convertirse en un referente regional y mundial en
materia de gas.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, which makes it the country with
the largest reserves in the South American region with 200.3 TCF of gas, according to official figures year 2019. Venezuela has
been characterized as an oil producing country, and currently has the largest oil reserves in the world. In terms of gas, currently
about 87% of proven reserves correspond to gas associated with oil, however, in the last two decades the Venezuelan state
has been structuring and implementing a strategy for the development of gas not associated with oil, particularly in areas
where there are high expectations both offshore and onshore.

the largest gas reserves, but also as a producer and promoter of the use of Natural Gas as a reliable energy.

things based on the confidence and support that our gas potential generates for new investments, with a view to
consolidating not only the satisfaction of the requirements of the domestic market, but also of the international market, which

Bloque 2: El Proyecto tiene como objetivo monetizar las reservas de 7,4 TCF de gas no asociado
de los yacimientos del bloque 2, perteneciente a la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, con la
finalidad de producir 1000 MMPCED de gas (porción Venezuela).

Bloque 4: se ubica en aguas territoriales venezolanas al este del Estado Delta Amacuro con una
superficie de 1.433,39 Km2, en febrero de 2003 se otorgó una Licencia por 35 años, con un Área:
201,31 km2 (1.232,08 km2 de vueltos). Los socios de la licencia son: Equinor 51% (operador) -
Tota Energyl 49 %.

De acuerdo a los requerimientos de la licencia se han completado tres (03) pozos exploratorios:
Ballena, Orca y Cocuina; este último yacimiento compartido con la República de Trinidad y
Tobago. El desarrollo de las reservas de Cocuina no se considera comercial por sí sólo, por lo que Ubicación / Location:
se requiere su desarrollo con otra área que permita declarar la comercialidad del campo
Manakin-Cocuina. Por consiguiente se plantea el desarrollo: Conexión al Campo Juniper ubicado Plataforma Deltana, Región Oriental.

Las expectativas de reservas en el cinturón gasífero de Venezuela ubicado en costa afuera alcanzan los
89 TCF. Venezuela a la vanguardia de los países en la región, se encuentra trabajando en un proyecto de
sísmica integrada, a fin de evaluar y certificar dichas expectativas, y avanzar hacia un proyecto de
cuantificación de reservas, este escenario se convierte sin duda en una extraordinaria oportunidad de
inversión en exploración y explotación de gas no asociado, toda vez que ya se conoce que el 46,70% de
dichas expectativas (41,56 TCF) representan nuevas oportunidades que en el corto plazo pudieran
estar saliendo en una ronda licitatoria en 58 oportunidades distribuidas en las áreas del Golfo de
Venezuela, Norte de Paria, Blanquilla Oeste, Blanquilla Este, Blanquilla Noreste y Boca Serpiente.
