La paz mundial es el concepto de un estado ideal de paz dentro y entre todas las personas y
naciones del Planeta Tierra . Diferentes culturas, religiones, filosofías y organizaciones tienen
diferentes conceptos sobre cómo se produciría tal estado.
Varias organizaciones religiosas y seculares tienen el objetivo declarado de lograr la paz
mundial abordando los derechos humanos, la tecnología, la educación, la ingeniería, la
medicina o la diplomacia utilizada para poner fin a todas las formas de lucha. Desde 1945, las
Naciones Unidas y los cinco miembros permanentes de su Consejo de Seguridad ( China ,
Francia , Rusia , Reino Unido y Estados Unidos ) han operado bajo el objetivo de resolver
conflictos sin guerra. No obstante, las naciones han entrado en numerosos conflictos militares
desde entonces.
Día Internacional de la Paz
El Día Internacional de la Paz de las Naciones Unidas , a veces llamado Día Mundial de la Paz, se
celebra anualmente el 21 de septiembre. Está dedicado a la paz, y específicamente a la
ausencia de guerra y violencia, y puede celebrarse mediante un alto el fuego temporal en una
zona de combate. El Día Internacional de la Paz fue establecido en 1981 por la Asamblea
General de las Naciones Unidas . Dos décadas después, en 2001, la Asamblea General votó por
unanimidad para designar el día como el día de la prevención de la violencia y el alto el fuego.
La celebración de este día es reconocida por muchas naciones y pueblos. En 2013, por primera
vez, la jornada se ha dedicado a la educación para la paz , es decir, mediante los medios
preventivos clave para reducir la guerra de forma sostenible.
World peace is the concept of an ideal state of peace within and among all people and nations
on Planet Earth. Different cultures, religions, philosophies, and organizations have varying
concepts on how such a state would come about.
Various religious and secular organizations have the stated aim of achieving world peace
through addressing human rights, technology, education, engineering, medicine, or diplomacy
used as an end to all forms of fighting. Since 1945, the United Nations and the five permanent
members of its Security Council (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United
States) have operated under the aim to resolve conflicts without war. Nonetheless, nations
have entered numerous military conflicts since then.
International Day of Peace
The United Nations International Day of Peace, sometimes called World Peace Day, is observed
annually on 21 September. It is dedicated to peace, and specifically the absence of war and
violence, and can be celebrated by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone. The International
Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades
later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the day as a day of
preventing violence and a cease-fire. The celebration of this day is recognized by many nations
and people. In 2013, for the first time, the day has been dedicated to peace education, i.e. by
the key preventive means to reduce war sustainably.
