VERB TO BE

El verbo To be se utiliza para decir quién sos, como te llamás, cuantos años tenés
y ese tipo de información personal, entre otras cosas.

Pero... primero lo primero. Cuando empezamos las oraciones siempre debemos


comenzar con un sujeto, es decir la persona que hace una acción. Puede ser Mary,
Jonathan, etc. O podés comenzar con un pronombre personal.

Los pronombres personales representan a las personas que hacen las acciones: En
Inglés ellos Son: I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they.

Singular

I – yo

you - tú / usted

he - él (un hombre)

she - ella (una mujer)

it -eso (un objeto, animal o planta)

Plural

we - nosotros / nosotras

you - ustedes / vosotros

they - ellos / ella

Por ejemplo observá qué sucede en la siguiente oración:

The cat is Black.

En esta oración quien hace la acción , es decir el sujeto, es un gato. La palabra “cat”
puede ser reemplazado por “IT”, porque it representa a un animal o una cosa.
Otro ejemplo:

Shakira is a singer.

¿Por cuál pronombre personal reemplazarías a Shakira?
