4 Personajes:
Elena: Joven mujer de unos 26 años. Tiene una actitud verdaderamente
positiva ante la vida (siempre elige ver lo positivo).
José: Trabaja hace tiempo en la oficina en la que empieza a trabajar Elena. Es
quién le da la bienvenida a la joven a su nuevo trabajo.
Luján: También es una antigua empleada de la oficina.
Mario: El jefe. Hombre de apariencia ruda y hostil a quién sus empleados
temen.
ACTO I.
Personajes que intervienen en este acto: Elena y José.
Escenario: Una oficina con escritorios, ordenadores, papeles por todas partes,
lapiceros con bolígrafos y lápices, ficheros y una taza de café.

José está trabajando en su computadora. Se acerca Elena.

–Elena: Hola, soy Elena Pérez. Me indicaron que venga a esta oficina.

–José: Ah, tu eres la nueva compañera. Mucho gusto, mi nombre es José,

vamos a trabajar juntos.

(Se saludan)

–José: (Le indica un ordenador) Tú puedes trabajar aquí. Para empezar,

tendrías que llenar estas planillas con estos datos, imprimir lo que está en
esta carpeta, ordenar por fechas y archivar. Cuando termines me avisas.
–Elena: (Se sienta en su puesto) Muy bien.

–José: (En tono más confidencial) Hay algunas cosas que deberías saber
desde el principio. Aquella es la oficina de Mario, el jefe. Como verás está
cerca, así que no está permitido hacer ruido cuando él está por aquí: no
tolera los ruidos, ni el más mínimo ruido.

–Elena: Entiendo, algunas personas necesitan silencio para poder

concentrarse totalmente en las tareas que realizan.

–José: (Intentando ser solidario con la nueva compañera y advirtiéndole)

Tienes que saber que si quieres permanecer en este trabajo te conviene no
contradecirlo en nada aunque sepas que está equivocado, él siempre cree
tener la razón.

–Elena: Ok, ha de ser un hombre muy seguro de sí mismo. Se necesita mucha

seguridad y compromiso para ser responsable del trabajo de tantas personas.

–José: Yo diría muy severo y suele tener mal humor. ¡Ha!, y no cuentes tus
problemas personales porque no le interesan; solo espera de sus empleados
que hagan funcionar la empresa.

–Elena: ¡Qué admirable! ¡Se nota que su trabajo lo apasiona!

–José: (Sorprendido por la actitud de su compañera) Parece que no me estás

entendiendo. Si te digo todo esto es para que conserves tu trabajo y lo sufras
lo menos posible.
–Elena: Y te lo agradezco, pero no es mi modo de enfrentar la vida.

–José: Mario es realmente duro con sus empleados; aquí todos le tememos.
Cuando él aparece, no vuela ni una mosca, y así es desde siempre. Además
¿Cómo puede parecerte tan admirable si aún no lo conoces?

–Elena: Mira José, que alguien o algo me guste o me caiga bien no depende

ACTO II

Personajes que intervienen en este acto: Elena, Luján, José y Mario.

Escenario: La misma oficina del Acto I.

Elena, José y Luján trabajan y conversan amenamente.

–José: ¡Tengo hambre!

–Luján: Sí, ¡que llegue rápido la hora de almorzar! ¿Qué van a cocinar a la
noche?
–Elena: Yo voy a cocinar algo liviano.

–José: Yo voy a comer lo que traiga el delivery.

–Luján: Yo voy a hacer una ¡estupenda lasagna! (pronuncia la exclamación

con tono italiano)

(Los tres compañeros ríen)

(En un instante se cortan las risas y el ambiente se tensa. Entra Mario con su
habitual seriedad. José y Luján se ponen serios y quietos y saludan al
unísono)

–José: Buen día don Mario.

–Luján: Buen día don Mario.

–Mario: (Sin responder al saludo) Luján, los balances, como siempre, tienen
errores. Los necesito perfectos antes del fin de semana.

–Luján: (Nerviosa) Si… es que, tuve… poco tiempo y…

–Mario: (La interrumpe) Los necesito perfectos antes del fin de semana.

(Mario sigue su camino rumbo a su oficina. Se detiene y regresa)

–Mario: Elena, ¿sigues aquí?

–Elena: Si don Mario, quería terminar con esto pero ya me voy, el horario de
visita está por empezar.

–Mario: Bueno, espero que esté todo bien con tu madre. No hay
inconveniente con que cambies tu día de descanso para mañana si lo
necesitas. (Se va a su oficina.)

–Elena: Gracias don Mario.

(José y Luján se miran desconcertados por la amabilidad de Mario.)

–Elena: (Entendiendo el asombro de sus compañeros) Es que mi madre está

en observación en el hospital. Nada grave, pero por precaución la han dejado
unos días más.

–Luján: ¿Y Mario te ha dejado salir en horario de trabajo para ir a verla?

–Elena: Sí… Solo le expliqué la situación y como cualquier persona

comprensiva me dio permiso.

–José: Es que con nosotros nunca ha sido comprensivo…

–Elena: Es que aquí todos siempre le han tenido miedo. Lo han tratado con
desconfianza y él ha respondido de la misma manera. Yo por mi parte,
siempre lo he tratado con respeto y cordialidad y él me ha respondido de
igual modo. Solo es cuestión de cómo uno enfrente las situaciones. (Se va.)
