Hurling

Atlética Gaélica. Se juega con palos mediante los cuales se golpea una pelota.

La All-Ireland Championship es la principal competición de este deporte, que disputan equipos
de los diferentes condados de la República de Irlanda y los condados de Irlanda del Norte, así
como un equipo representativo de Londres (Reino Unido) y otro de Nueva York (Estados
Unidos). La final del campeonato se disputa en el estadio Croke Park de Dublín, aunque en
2012 se jugó en un estadio tradicional en Tullamore. El campeón vigente es el Limerick.
En 2018 la Unesco declaró al hurling como Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad.
Material
EL hurley o bastón mide 1,07 metros de largo aproximadamente, se extiende desde
una asa estrecha a una base ancha de alrededor de 8 centímetros de anchura, que es
por donde se golpea la bola.
Terreno de juego
Podemos utilizar un campo de balonmano si no disponemos de un terreno de juego
mayor, a los postes de las porterías de balonmano podemos alargarlos con unos
tubos de PVC (con un mínimo de cuatro metros por encima del larguero de la portería)
VESTIMENTA
Cada equipo de hurling consta de quince jugadores, que visten un jersey con colores
identificativos y un número en la espalda. Como en el fútbol y en otros diversos deportes, la
vestimenta del portero tiene que diferenciarse de la del resto de jugadores para evitar
confusiones. Cuando alguna de las formaciones marca gol, este hecho se marca levantando
una bandera verde. El hurling guarda ciertos parecidos con el shinty, que se juega
en Escocia.
