PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE

El tiempo Presente Simple, es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones habituales que suceden
con cierta frecuencia y no hace referencia a si está ocurriendo en el momento actual.

AFFIRMATIVE FORM:

SUJETO + VERB + COMP.

EXAMPLES:

1. I clean my room.

2. You buy the lunch.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

3. He drives the new car.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

4. She studies French.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

5. It works really well.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

IMPORTANT

* En la 3ª persona del singular se colocara la desinencia “ S ” al final del verbo.


1. It WORKS very good.  Esto trabaja muy bien.

* Los verbos acabados en -o,-sh, -ch , -ss, -x , -z, -y añaden  “ ES ” en lugar de “S”
1. He GOES to the class. El va a la clase.

* Los verbos acabados en -y cuando la y no sea precedida de una vocal. Forman la tercera
persona en –ies.
1. She STUDIES in the classroom.  Ella estudia en el salón de clase.

NEGATIVE FORM:
Para trabajar la negación del presente simple utilizamos auxiliares, estos son partículas gramaticales que no
poseen significación, pero le dan sentido a las ideas.

Para el presente simple los auxiliares en negación son: DON’T = DO NOT – DOESN’T = DOES NOT.

SUJETO + DON’T + VERB + COMP.


DOESN’T

EXAMPLES:

1. I DON’T work in the bank.

IMPORTANT: El auxiliar DOES trabajara con la tercera persona ( HE. SHE. IT )


El auxiliar DO trabajara con los demás pronombres (I, YOU, WE, THEY)

Yo no juego en el equipo El no corre en la playa.

The most difficult thing for me is to sit in a place that is full of the smell of cigarettes. When you visit an
internet cafe’, the first thing you face is this big cloud of smoke and the unpleasant smell of cigarettes. It’s
completely not healthy to stay in such place.

Many people suffer from public places full of smokers who fill the air with their smoke. Even those who
used to smoke once they stay away from this bad habit when they feel uncomfortable around smokers.

In the past people in Syria used to smoke only in public cafes, but nowadays people smoke everywhere, in
the restaurant, offices, street, parks, even in the hall of the hospital. Smokers who used to smoke one pack
daily and stopped can feel how much they lost of their lungs capacity.
