Kenny Burrell
Nacido en Detroit, Michigan, cuyos padres fueron también músicos. Kenny comenzó a
tocar la guitarra a los 12 años. Sus principales influencias en la guitarra fueron, Charlie Christian,
Django Reinhardt y Wes Montgomery.
Sus estudios los realizó en Wayne State University, haciendo su primer debut con el
sexteto de Dizzy Gillespie en 1951. Al graduarse Oscar Peterson lo invitó a su gira en 1955, lo que
conllevó a trasladarse a la ciudad de New York en 1956.
Además de liderar su propia banda, Kenny ha participado con múltiples músicos tanto en
vivo, como de sesión. Entre ellos destacan, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Benny Goodman,
Jimmy Smith, Stan Getz, Gil Evans, Chet Baker, Gene Ammons, Donald Byrd, Ron Carter, Paul
