Her own conduct in life and outlook in various aspects like education, science, women’s overall development and the country’s freedom movement have been accounted for here. This is in contrast to her various biographies or accounts which focus on her divinity primarily. However, higher education has always taken a backseat when it comes to media coverage. Higher educational institutions only make headlines when its students get stellar job offers with packages running into crores, or if there is some incident that has created a sensation. As a policy or paradigm, it gains visibility only if there is some top ministerial announcement. Whether the media platform is in print or electronic, higher education related is relegated to pages beyond page 3 or lost in crowded news flashes. Whether this reflects societal attitudes, or is the reason behind it is an issue worth exploring. In case of Ezines in India, the overarching emphasis appears to be on opinion on issues that are hogging mainstream media headlines. Given that education rarely makes for a prime time TV debate or front-page news, one rarely finds discussions or debate on the subject in digital media, leave alone hard, fact-based analysis. The higher education system of India is the third largest in the world next to USA and China; however, in terms of absolute numbers of student enrolment, the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) for higher education is only about 19% while the world average is 35%. The President of India has often been heard to emphasize achievement of GER of 30% by the year 2020, the development of scientific temper in students and promotion of research at the undergraduate level. But education policy alone cannot lead to attainment of these goals, unless media plays a significant part in highlighting what is important and reaching it to the masses. This paper presents a brief on the current coverage of higher education-related news in the top newspapers and top television news channels in selected region of study, frequency, visibility, recall factor and potential impact of the news. Based on surveys conducted with students, parents and media houses, the paper seeks to explore how news from the higher education sector can be regularised in the primary segment of mainstream media, how to source relevant news with positive impact and the potential of such coverage.

The biological use of the term stress was first made in 1930 by endocrinologist Hans Selye. Probably that was the beginning of a new culture to which most of us get succumbed in the busy schedule of our lives, irrespective of the demographics to which one belongs – a student or a corporate honcho or a home-maker. In this article we will trace out simple ways to prevent it.
We are raised with the mindset that we are unique, which in turn programs our mind to be the center of attraction. To maintain this stature, the mind always aims to attain excellence in whatsoever activity the individual does. However, limited thought process causes hindrance towards this aim. This limitation gives rise to the menace of stress. This can be at the workplace, college, in relationships, personal lives and hobbies.
So the way out – we have heard the phrase many a times – bringing out the best of oneself. How do we do that? Many philosophers have debated and theorized several principles on this topic. A very basic one would be to go beyond our limited perception and stop identifying with the circumstances. In order to achieve this one has to follow certain simple practices
