Spoken language is usually the first point of social contact. Speaking is a behavioural skill that is used the most and yet most difficult. Teaching English as second language to the student of vernacular medium has always been a challenge. But most of the time teachers never reflect on their teaching and blame students. This is where Classroom Research plays a pivotal role and teachers as researcher can answer their own possible challenges of classroom. A teacher can reflect on his or her teaching and address the necessary issues of speaking skills among the students. This paper will look into the possibilities how a teacher research can help a teacher to explore in a planned way to gather evidence and reflect to overcome his teaching practice and develop language learning in a multilingual context.

Shughni language is one of the minority languages in Badakhshan, north part of Afghanistan. It is... more Shughni language is one of the minority languages in Badakhshan, north part of Afghanistan. It is spoken in Shughnan District and it has more 27000 speakers. It has experienced challenges, especially in vocabulary; for instance, its speakers are losing the indigenous words and replacing them with Persian words. Questionnaire was the tool for collecting the data and participants responded questions in term of their background knowledge. The analysis demonstrates how indigenous words in Shughni language are losing. They are replaced by dominant languages, particularly Persian, which plays a vital role in Shughnan District. Therefore, I conclude by discussing some theoretical and methodological implications that resulted in convincible findings.

Over decades researchers have done academic translation in different languages, especially from E... more Over decades researchers have done academic translation in different languages, especially from English in to Persian and from Persian into English language and translators did not focus on equivalent of these two languages. However, at this time, the main focus of research was on finding equivalent in these two languages. When translators are going to translation any text from Persian into English language or from English into Persian language, they have to find equivalents in these languages in order to make adaptations. At the same time, technology plays a very important role in translation in the context of Afghanistan. When the teachers want to play any video of native speaker in the class, there should be net, projector, computer and electricity. This paper ends with the role of technology in finding equivalent in academic translation in the context of Afghanistan.

It is important to remember that acquiring English needs suitable context and enough input in communication. Understanding of question words in EFL Context, especially the learners who learn English as a foreign language in Afghanistan was the new subject. The main purpose of this study is to characterize Wh-words on the performance of the learners who participated in ESP Courses at Badakhshan University and Borna Higher Education in Faizabad, Badakhshan Province in Afghanistan. Recently, some of these students graduated from Badakhshan University and Borna Higher Education and they occupied different positions in different national and international organization. The main criterion for recruiting of these students these organizations was knowing the fourth skills of English language. In this study, 50 subjects were selected from 150 students who participated in the exam. Among these subjects, 25 were female and who also graduated from different disciplines and participated in ESP classes. The task distributed for all these participants in a special large class and the data were collected. The data were analyzed based on quantitative research. Findings of this research represented wh-words and their movements in the sentences are sometimes complicated for the learners who use English as a foreign language, especially for intermediate level. They faced to challenges that they missed their using with auxiliaries and their movements from NP to CP positions. This paper ends with empirical search to represent the challenges to which the learners face when they use Wh-words in the sentences.

The aim of this article is to explore the needs of doctors and prepare them a course to learn English. In Afghanistan, English is used as a foreign language and it is not the medium of instruction in the class because the national languages play the key role in instruction. It is really important for the doctors to learn English in order to learn new information and should be aware about progress, especially in medical. At the same time, most of the names of drugs have been written based on English and it is necessary for them to know English in their own discipline. This paper is written based on quantitative research and Questionnaire was the tool for data collection and it was sent to doctors who were in Afghanistan, particularly. In this research, there were 50 participants and out of them 25 subjects were female. In learning English language for doctors, they wanted to memorize technical words that are very important in their daily works. They wanted to improve four skills of English language as well because they need to communicate with their colleagues. This paper ends with significance of technical words for doctors in the context of Afghanistan.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the medical student perception about their QoL, in order to be aware of their own problems. Methods: We applied three instruments: SF36 health questionnaire; a QoL self-perception questionnaire and a questionnaire regarding self-awareness and coping strategies to medical students from first to fourth year. Results: 203 students answered the questionnaires (women 64.5% and median age 20 years). Students self-perception about QoL was overestimated in most of the domains except in physical role functioning (p <0.001). There was a significant difference between genders, and men showed a greater deviation from SF36 to QoL self-perception for mental health domain than women (p=0.04).
