Energy demand and energy costs are going up. Energy efficiency — our nation’s largest and fastest-growing energy sector — brings demand and costs down. Energy efficiency – both solutions that reduce energy use and those that help to shave energy needs at peak times – lowers the energy footprint in buildings, fosters affordability, and reduces pressure on the grid. Pennsylvania’s energy efficiency programs currently generate $1.38 in benefits for Commonwealth residents for every $1.00 invested, while in New Jersey programs created $988 million in energy bill savings between 2021 and 2024. At the start of 2025, energy efficiency employed nearly 2.4 million Americans.
