Writing a Global History of the Second World War by Taking Japan Seriously
At the DIJ Forum on October 14, 2025, Sheldon Garon (Princeton University) and Sebastian Conrad (Freie Universität Berlin) will discuss how taking Japan seriously can help us write a truly global history of the Second World War, challenging Eurocentric and America-centric perspectives and discussing Japan’s central role in the transnational dynamics of modern warfare and society.
