About me

[edit]

Hi, I'm Dclemens1971. I'm here to create and expand articles and help ensure the high quality of the content here. My personal interests include religious architecture, biographies of religious leaders (mostly Anglican), religious organizations, National Register of Historic Properties listings, among others. I'm proud to have created multiple good articles, including some like Christ Chapel (Hillsdale College) and Forest Building that are complemented by several photos taken when I visited those sites on recent trips. (Over at Commons, I've uploaded thousands of my own photos and I spend a lot of time improving categorization to make it easier for Wikipedia editors to find photos that will improve the encyclopedia. My kids roll their eyes when I stop to photograph a random building on a road trip, but I've added several NRHP site photos that way.) I'm also excited to have expanded and raised Middle judicatory to GA status after it was nominated for deletion.

In 2023, I started participating in AfDs and enjoyed that process. It's helped me be a better content creator. I've benefited a lot from Wikipedia over the years, and so I spend a big chunk of my volunteering time on the site as a new page reviewer, articles for creation reviewer, and general AfD participant, helping to ensure the encyclopedia remains a high-quality resource for all. I particularly enjoy reviewing new pages outside of my own areas of expertise; I've learned a lot! In 2025, I joined the group of editors who review and promote articles at Did You Know and became a template editor so I can queue sets for the homepage there. In 2026, I was successfully nominated to serve as an administrator on the project.

Notes about interacting with me

[edit]
  • Feel free always to drop a line on my talk page. I have no objection to receiving a one-time templated message, but if you feel like you need to engage again please do it in your own words.
  • I also have email set up if you need to reach out that way; just click "Email this user" on the left-hand side. I welcome questions, feedback and correction.
  • I rarely add user talk pages or discussion boards to my watchlist, so if you want me to see a reply, please WP:PING me.

Disclosure

[edit]

Earlier in my Wikipedia career I engaged in undisclosed paid editing on behalf of employers at the time, a choice I regret. Since becoming more active in the project in 2022 and becoming fully aware of the guidelines around conflicted editing, I have ceased editing any pages on which I have a conflict of interest or which relate to any employer, past or present.
