Happy 2026

Dear friends,

I wish you a wonderful 2026. *big hug* I am so happy that I know you and that our little (fandom) community still exists 💜

Another FFnet comment...

...but although this one is a spam, too (and it's important to report all of them, so please do it if you get spam comments and messages), this one made me laugh 😀

"I'm Marsha Wellson as a concept artist I'm having lot of serval ideas in my mind if your up for that good love to assist with you that"

Is she going to send me pictures of those beautiful cats for my stories? 🤣🤣🤣

And another comment...

Another "comment" I got on fanfiction net:

"Hi there! I hope I'm not causing any trouble, but I recently read "Unexpected Fate" and I genuinely enjoyed it. I've been thinking about adapting your story into my comic style, and I would be thrilled to bring it to life in that format. I believe you'll be pleased with the results, and perhaps you'd even consider sharing it once it's done.
I'm a skilled digital artist with professional experience, and I offer paid services for my work. I don't work for free, but I assure you that the quality will be worth it. We can discuss pricing and other details further or connect on Discord if you're interested. My Discord ID is echoknight.01 if you'd like to connect."

My reply:

"What I'd like to do, and what I will do this very moment, is to report you.
This is the web site for sharing stories and for enjoying the fandoms we love. You are not here for that, but for your profit.
Delete your account and don't come near my stories ever again."

Please, report all these people who are on ffnet for the wrong reasons.

Another annoying FFnet comment

I probably wouldn't post this if cairistiona hadn't mention a weird comment she got a few days ago, but as we started the conversation on this topic, I'll show you what I got today.
"Comments" of this sort started some 2-3 months ago, and I start to be angry.

"Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently had the pleasure of reading your story, "Unexpected Fate," and was truly captivated by its unique narrative and creativity. The depth and imagination in your work inspired me, and I believe it would translate beautifully into a visually compelling comic book.
As a professional comic artist, I would love to collaborate with you to bring your vision to life as a fully illustrated comic. This project would be commission-based, and I would work closely with you to ensure that every page captures the essence of your story.
If this opportunity excites you, I'd be happy to discuss the process in more detail, including pricing, timelines, and any creative ideas you have in mind.
Please feel free to reach out to me via any of the following:

Thank you for considering this collaboration. I look forward to the possibility of working together to create something truly extraordinary!
Best regards,
Lydia Crazy
Professional Commission Comic Artist"

No, lady, you are not of FFnet for the stories, you are not there to enjoy the world(s) we love. You'll be reported. (Though I'm not sure there will be any result, but I'll try...)

Unexpected Fate

Summary: Where did Grond actually go after breaking the gates of Minas Tirith?

Word-count: 5268

Notes: Inspired by this meme, which I saw almost two years ago 😀 I thought about it, and thought about it, and thought, and I had some ideas, but it was only recently that I had finally figured out what to do and what to write 😀 I hope you'll like it.

The Road to Edoras

Summary: Movie-gapfiller: story of the perilous journey of Eothain and Freda from their village to Edoras.

Word-count: 1156

Notes: For many years, each time while watching The Two Towers, I have thought that the journey of Eothain and Freda to Edoras is just screaming "gapfiller possibility"! *lol* But I have never really figured out what to do and what to write – until the last time I watched it, some two weeks ago. It was then, finally, that things "clicked" in my mind, and I came up with this story.
Big hug and kiss to cairistiona7 for beta-reading.

Before the Battle

Summary: The thoughts of an unnamed infantry soldier before the very beginning of the siege of Minas Tirith.

Word-count: 485

Note: Hugs and kiss to cairistiona7, my beta-reader.

The day has finally arrived. The day we have awaited for a long time. The siege of the city begins. We are in position. Babbling and shouting echoes around. We stand together, ready.

Am I scared? I will not admit it to any of my comrades, but... yes, a little bit. Because one can die in war, and I wouldn't want to die. I am young, and I would like to live longer.

I am excited. This is the day when the biggest battle of this war begins; everything that has happened so far, all the campaigns and skirmishes, has been only a prelude, a mere introduction to this moment. We've been told that this will be the biggest battle of all the wars so far. The biggest? Of all of them? Impressive. And how many have been? I have no idea. I don't know much history, and neither do those around me. We haven't paid much attention to it. All that has mattered was sword-training: to be the best warrior possible, each one of us, to defeat our enemies. And that's what I have done. I've been practicing for years, and I have become very good. As for history, I know only the basic things I've heard from our superiors: that our realm had been much bigger long ago, and that our enemies had pushed us within present boundaries, to today’s territory. "They took away what was ours," they have been telling us.

And that's why I hate them. They are evil. I want to kill as many as possible. My comrades feel the same way. I see determination in their eyes, tension in their postures, readiness to move. We yearn for the sign. Many of us will be slain... I probably as well. And no one will remember me afterwards. Yes, I would like to live; who wouldn't? But if I kill several enemies, if I give my contribution, I'll be content. It will be my small share in the matter, in achieving our common final goal.

I observe the walls of the obnoxious city of men that we must conquer. They look high, massive and impenetrable, and it will be very difficult. But our army is huge – there are so many more of us than men inside, and we also have trolls, wargs and human allies from the south and east on our side. All nine of our supreme commanders are here, too, with their huge flying beasts. Being near them is scary even for us, and our enemies are terrified by their mere presence. In the battle ahead, they will certainly slay many.

And for all those reasons, I firmly believe in our victory. I probably won't live to enjoy it... but I'll give my best. I want to, and I have to. So that we defeat our evil enemies, reclaim what is ours, conquer the whole world. For our Master.

End-note:
*giggles* So, did I fool you?
