It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

October is Pride month in Gainesville. I would love it if my friends chose to wear purple also. "Here is potential, gone for good."

I have found the answer to at least a few of the former questions. First, snagged a few of the icons from
 LJ community trekicons :). Also, have learned the rules for manips, apparently I should
never work with a icon already made if said icon-maker doesn't wish further work. And , of course, one should
credit all filching, especially via comments to said icon-maker's entries. All sensible, courteous rules. Apparently,
photos are able to be manipulated, but not if the photographer requests not, also basic courtesy. if there are
other rules, people may leave in comments, Thank You!!

I am so behind the times, and do not yet know how to provide a link, but these two vids for Star Trek are hilarious. On the off-chance

you-tube version of the later is disappointing, the permanent link is much sharper. As others have commented, there is a special transformative
zing to using a song that is non-feminist to make a feminist statement.
 I am still on the hunt for Star Trek Reboot'verse icons, and wish to confirm politeness for borrowing the same. Is it polite if you are lifting
an image from another's entry to comment to ask if it is OK? Is it more polite if it is a recognizable picture to manip said image before
